My neighbor is 75, just traded a 12 in for a killer deal on a 19. Go for it, enjoy it. It's your money

First for all that posted losing, friends, family or diagnosed with poor health, sorry for your loss and please get well soon.
I say buy, what you want you have past the finish line and enjoying your life and being happy should be a top priority. if your worried about the wife you can put a process in place if anything should ever happen on how to sell the cars. This will make it easy on your wife or who ever inherits your assets.
Enjoy your new C8, don’t look back you earned it.

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
OK guys (and gals). I'm really undecided on this.
I'll be 75 in a couple of weeks, My health is marginal, at best, and if I live another 10 years it'll be a miracle. I've have an incurable disease of the lungs called 'pulmonary arterial hypertension, which puts a heavy load on my heart. I've owned a Corvette for most of my adult life, starting with a 1964 roadster. I currently have a C-5 and a C-7. I love the look (and the reviews) of the C-8. I can easily afford whatever one I want, on a cash basis. My choice would likely be a vert, Z51. I know you only go around once in life, and I should enjoy what I can, while I can. I've been married over 50 years, and my wife would probably not be in favor of my getting another Vette, but she'd get over it.
Should I go for it, or use good sense, and just enjoy what I already have?

Think about it in this way. Suppose on buying your first Corvette you went through these pangs and decided not to buy it. Would you be sorry now? I think you would because you now know what you would have missed. So now all you have to do is to look into the future and say, would I have been sorry that I didn't buy a C8? Not easy to do but you're the best person to make that decision. Good Luck

If you were my dad (you're too young to be that BTW)..... I'd enthusiastically encourage you to enjoy these waning, twilight years assuming it's not reckless regarding impending medical expenses. Unlike my '66, which is a family heirloom, I'd find a owning a C5, C7, AND C8 a burden, not a joy. Selling the C5 and C7 should be an acceptable compromise with the love of your life. The C5 and C7 collectively should be worth 1/2-2/3rds the cost of the C8 and even if you pass a week after receiving the C8 your heirs will only be down a very well enjoyed 10-20k of depreciation. When we're sitting in rockers (or wheelchairs) together on the porch at the retirement home, I'll look forward to hair raising C8 ME stories.
Live well.

I would say dump them and go for the C8.
I had a C4 ZR-1 and a C5 Z06 when I bought my C7 Z06. I figured I would keep all 3. By the time I drove home from Duluth, Ga I knew the Z06 was going away.
When the 2019 ZR1 was announced one year onyl
and last manual. I had to have one. Traded the Z06 in and sold the ZR-1.
I bought both Z06s and had the ZR-1 20 years.
I don’t miss any of them.
I am putting in an order for a C8 vert Z51. Keeping the C7 ZR1.
Or keep them all.
Enjoy the ride,
D.

OK.
I'm going to sell the C-5, trade the C-7 (I do hate that)
and here's my build.
