Do we want him reviewing the C8? He’s a funny guy but doesn’t know squat about cars.

The only reason this question was asked is because people do not understand that no C8s are in customer hands plus Doug doesn't have a relationship with GM as far as I know. Typical case of uninformed people.

I watched the video earlier today and I don't know or care about Doug's relationship with GM (who would?) but he makes a good point that some manufacturers are stuck in the stone age, thinking print is still the best way to advertise your car. Bottom line, Doug gets a lot of views and has a tremendous voice in the car community.....as annoying and goofy as he is....he 10000% should've been allowed to review the C8. The C8 needs NO help getting sold, but not giving the #1 you-tuber access to a car seem petty.

Maybe GM has a problem with him over past videos. Leno, Matt Farah and MANY others were allowed to a review the car a LONG time ago. Seems personal.

Doesn't know squat about cars? I'm certainly not a fanboy but I'm sure he's forgotten more about cars than you know. The way he points out the smallest "quirks" as he calls them about each car certainly makes him an interesting YouTuber which is definitely demonstrated by the substantial amount of views he gets. I don't understand the attitude by the older crowd here on CF towards YouTubers or even any of the "new ways" to make money. Perhaps because they don't involve toiling in a factory for several decades in poor working conditions for low pay or one of the other numerous blue collar jobs that a lot of members of the boomer generation worked?

I called it. The C8 is the most popular car on this planet by such a large magnitude that every affluent suburb will be filled with them in the coming years 100 PERCENT GUARANTEED. This is BMW 3 series popularity that extended from late 80s onward, and made BMW into a monolith overnight. Doug Demuro is the most popular you tuber car reviewer ON THIS PLANET by a substantial margin. When Motortrend said the C8 story broke the internet then it most certainly is believable. ANY CAR placed in the same realm as the C8 has instant success, and hence the GT500 tag along comparison. Which isnt even fair or warranted when the Camaro is the natural competitor for Mustang. The market disruption will be SEVERE regardless of what ANY detractor on this forum says. The used exotic appreciation market is going to be thoroughly rocked for the foreseeable future, and that's a guarantee at this moment. TESLA, BMW, TOYOTA , FORD, PORSCHE and any other company trying to sell sports based cars are going to be simply overlooked in the next 5 years because of this series of cars. This isnt fan boyism either, because there simply isnt ANY CAR ON THE PLANET LIKE THE C8 AT THE PRICE OR EVEN NEAR IT. BUCKLE UP FOR THE WILDEST RIDE IN AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY SINCE THE BMW 3 SERIES CARS GUARANTEED.

Who cares. How many reviews do you need to see... You've either ordered one at this point or you haven't.

All the evidence is there, and if your flipping cars for a living then tough times are ahead in the sports car matkets 100 percent guaranteed. The C8 is not only the biggest hit in the auto industry, but possibly a WORLDWIDE CULT PHENOMENON. The detractors are being overwhelmed with evidence of the C8 revolution everyday at this point.

The people buying used exotics that appreciate in value are not looking for a corvette with value that depreciates. How can you not understand that? Your blind fan boy attitude is simply ignorant of the reality. Sure it will be a great selling sports car like all vettes but it will not affect anything.

Youtube reviews are sometimes entertaining, but most lack any credibility. They mostly seem like a drunk neighbor did them, and most wouldn't give two ***** less about what they think. I'm a boomer and I watch some, but not for the most part. I think The Dude in Blue does an OK job and doesn't make me want to kill something when he talks, I roll my eyes watching Scotty and his reviews based on working on cars, but click off when he says POORSH, since he can't even pronounce the name. I do find the British guy with all the 911 problems kind of entertaining, he doesn't try too hard and seems pretty grounded. Never watched DeMuro, don't really care what he thinks.

Good reviews are nice, but I already made up my mind to purchase one, so I don’t really care if this Doug person does a review or not.

Yep... pretty soon Dodge, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Porsche, Ferrari, McClaren etc will all have $60k V8 mid engine sports cars and they'll be so common that people will line up to buy the few front end sports cars left... or who knows... maybe the flying cars will finally be out...
