Lowering a Base C8
Hello can a base C8 be lowered like the C7 with the factory bolts? I know the C8 Z51 package can be lowered. Thanks.

But only the Z51 has the spring perches. So, the answer is NO, the non-Z51 cannot be lowered like the C7 can.

In spite of Jakes obnoxious post, the answer is actually YES, if you're willing to spend money. There will almost certainly be aftermarket springs available which will lower the car. How much is it worth to you?

The OP asked "base C8 be lowered like the C7 with the factory bolts?". Using aftermarket springs to lower the car is not the equivalent of using lowering bolts on the C7. Using the adjustable spring perches on the Z51 is equivalent to the C7 lowering bolts. So, the answer to the OP's question is NO.

I seem to remember that someone said that the base car had 20mm worth of adjustment, but I am not sure about this.

I would think that somebody like Koni will be supplying before too long an aftermarket shock that will not only have adjustable spring perches but adjustable valving as well.

Almost 2 full inches provided you don't get the front end lift. With the front end lift, you lose the adjustable perches.

Ugh! If the Z51 does not come with adjustable perches when having the front end lift will the Z51 then be at its lowest or highest setting? For me I hope it is lowered to it's maximum setting.

The rear will still have the perches, just the front won't. Ride height will probably be about the same as any other C8 with or without front lift. It definitely won't be at the lowest equivalent setting.

Is that right? 2 inches is a LOT of suspension travel. I would bet the car only has about 4 inches of travel normally. The 20mm (.78") makes more sense.

I just read the entire thread.
20mm IS the ride height adjustment on FE3/FE4 (with NO FRONT END LIFT)
The "nearly 2 inches" is how much the front lift raises the front end (and NO 20mm ride height adjustment possible on the FRONT END. Rear end retains 20mm adjustment).
FE1 has NO ride height adjustment.
**The first post in your link is written incorrectly. It is confusing what the LIFT will do (almost 2 inches of lifting) with ride height adjustment. There is NO way that a production car would have enough customer adjustment available to cut the suspension travel in HALF. You would be on the bump stops over just about every pavement imperfection. This is a C8, not a Ford GT.
