Seattle is the laughing stock of the USA.

I wouldn't send a car like that into Prius land.

What is all this hate for Seattle..great place to live and lots of opportunity to work ,great tech companies, on the east side in Bellevue see lots of BMWs and Shelby Mustangs not to mention Ferraris and others...lots of Corvette clubs and other car clubs Mr Black you are uninformed. I hope that GM thinks just because they have a winner and have pre sold many C8 of which I am one they need to stop looking for new customers....Seattle has a bunch just waiting to be convinced !!

Uninformed? I've been living in the area for over 40 years.

Don't get me wrong, there's a bunch of good people that live in the city. There's also much more wrong with the city, and the city don't give a flying rats *** about the Auto show or Corvettes.

I am just relating to the fact that as a GM bean counter I would write off Seattle. Doesn't matter what we think.

I want to see the car just as bad as so many, but I get why it's not a priority for them.

"GM doesn't need more sales right now" said GM CEOs never. This is exactly the attitude and marketing logic that leads Chevy to have decreasing sales every year after the first year of production. Grease the skids for future sales--don't write off locals based on prior sales. You keep making the same mistake you'll keep get the same results.

You are most definitely entitled to that opinion. I can't and won't try to change it.

If you can find a way to get the car here, I will most definitely follow along.

I've been here since 1950 and even have a relative who has a street named after him here. My wife's side of the family has been here prior to the Alaskan gold rush I believe I'm as qualified as anyone to discuss the state of the city. Its environment can hardly be equaled. Set in the midst of Puget Sound & Lake Washington and between two beautiful mountain ranges, it is absolutely beautiful with summers to die for. Set on 6 hills (One was taken down) it has a diverse and interesting topography and population. Unfortunately it is proudly socialist and vying with San Francisco for the most human excretement per square foot, dotted with "homeless" tents bought new from REI. Between Microsoft and Amazon the place is completely pretentious with an extremely high cost of living and frequently voted in the top five for traffic and congestion. You really don't want to raise your kids here. Yeah, it has a couple of Corvette clubs to which you must apply for entrance and be accepted as worthy before you are allowed to pay dues and wear the official club jacket. Most dealers tack on a $7500 ADM to any Corvette they manage to get in stock. But you are much more likely to see the Tesla Model S as the mark of prestige rather than a Corvette. GM can safely skip this place, and the rest of you can pray that God has mercy on our souls.

This is the Seattle that I know and have to be around at times whether I want to be or not.

Well I think people there ride their bicycles to work. I wonder what would happen when it snows. Yeah they probably have a huge 4x4 SUV in their garages.

Sorry this has turned so political, yes Seattle has become very liberal, don't like it but love the city and area. My whole point had nothing to do with Seattle but about the great NW, up here you have buyers not just from Seattle but also Oregon,Idaho,Montana , BC and Alaska...small markets..yes but lots of potential for future buyers...guess GM does not care, looks like I will have one of the first ones....I will be happy to show it off to those who will not be able to see it because GM did not feel we were important enough to bring the car here...I don't own a bike or a Tesla...two Corvettes!

Don't lose site of the point. Politics is one of the factors that has made the area less attractive for Corvette sales. 1) Sentiment is against Corvettes. If you want to be cool with money, Tesla is your choice. 2) Dealers are gouging with ADMs. There may be a few who don't, but not the majority, and it begs the question. Can they even get them? 3) The physical environment is not conducive to Corvette ownership. You have to travel way out from the Seattle MSA to even find an open road. 4) Getting to the Seattle Auto show itself is an exercise in frustration. You have to negotiate heavy traffic, no or outrageous parking, poop on the streets, especially in the show area, and a less than safe environment. Then you get a mediocre show. (Been there, done that.) All these factors together combine to make the Seattle Auto show a less attractive venue than many other places to show off the C8. The original question was why was Seattle skipped? Well, this is the answer.

Unfortunately due to Seattle City Council/Mayor's office it has turned into a shithole of a city right before my eyes.

The International Motorcycle show doesn't even stop here anymore.

I went to the Auto show last year...…………….It was great if you were in the market for a new Subaru or an SUV.

There is a moat around most of Seattle for a reason.

If GM is trying to attract younger buyers with the C8, Seattle is definitely one of the places they should be bringing it. There are a lot of young tech workers making enough to afford it in the area.

I live in the Seattle area in the Summer, Arizona in the Winter. I bought my 2015 Z51 Coupe from a large East Coast dealer because they would honor a military discount and local dealers not only wouldn’t but were also adding ADM to the price. I had a courtesy delivery to a dealer in AZ. but titled it in WA and paid the 10% sales tax on the MSRP not the actual price of the car. I have a plan to get around all of this for my 2021 C8.

Just saw it at the Miami International auto show. Had a white one with black and blue interior I hadn't seen in person before, and the silver vert with red interior.

Wow, this thread has turned into something quite awful and petty. As a corvette owner here in the Seattle area I am extremely disappointed the C8 won't be present. Seattle ranks 10th amongst highest income metro areas in the country. But yes there are options outside of the Corvette for people with money. There are two corvettes on my street and a shop down the way that specializes in them. Obviously there are other markets, typically with better year round weather, that have a higher density of ownership. That said and we aren't talking about a super low volume exotic (which incidentally are coming to the Seattle show). In past years the Corvette drew great crowds at the show even when having been out for a while. It's disappointing as hell especially for a major city.

1/ It is not. I continue to have one with zero issues and only positive comments. Tesla is a great car by the way so I can understand why someone would want one. Your point is a personal opinion only and can be applied to a lot of places well outside of WA.

2/ Yeah, that doesn't happen anywhere. When I bought while living for some years in CA I wound up going through a dealer in South Dakota who had it shipped via courtesy delivery to a dealer quite a drive away from me. All of this because local dealers were gouging. Not a Seattle specific problem.

3/ Silly but I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I can easily head out to Duvall or Fall City to enjoy. Maybe there isn't anything next to you but it's unclear your intentions are living on the island.

4/ Also untrue but maybe you are talking about public transportation and walking from the ferry. Easy to drive over 90 right into the parking garage. Yes, traffic can be bad as with most major cities but going on the weekend is hardly a massive problem. Direct to the garage and into the show. No poop or dangerous criminals encountered in all the years I went. However, I do agree that the show isn't all that great say compared to LA. Still it's a fun chance to experience new cars.

As someone that has lived here for over 40 years and have watched this state be destroyed, your positive spin makes me want to barf. Especially when I hear California.

And your grossly negative spin elicits the same response. I spent 7-years in CA so hardly a place I call home. Grew up in Wisconsin if you want to take your shots at that.
