Start at 5k see what happens this one will go another 150k. Up til 02 the most reliable of the era. NFW would I depend on a vette as a real "depend your job on it" DD.

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I daily drove my 2015 Stingray Z51 thru two Ohio winters with no problem. Did swap the summer only tires for all seasons. Only car, every day to work.
I currently daily my 2017 Fifty 2SS.
I will be daily driving this car all year, barring 1 foot of snow. To work, to the grocery store, the mall, the tobacco store, the liquor store, the soft n supple hosiery corner, the feather and plumage haberdashery, the latex connection, the baby oil bulk wholesaler, all my usual stops.

Getting a convertible non-Z51 for work commute. I plan on a a full wrap of PPF with ceramic coating and enjoying every day from the driver’s seat instead of just sneaking a peek at it from the garage door before going to bed at night.

Plenty of people "daily drive" their Corvettes in the Detroit area, when the roads have less than an 8-inch accumulations of snow, or the roads have been plowed. I wouldn't recommend it on the original factory tires though..
Funny thing is that these cars which have high mileage, and have been driven in salt and snow rather than being "garage queens", don't seem to suffer much additional depreciation.

Corvettes are built for daily driving duty. Just give them the correct tires for the job.
127 inches of snow each year...no big deal with correct tires and on huge snowstorms like 27 inches in one night...no matter what you own the government declares a state the emergency anyway.
been daily driving my corvettes for years ...
makes driving fun.
just remember its just a car...
i do park further away and or tip the valets better ....but thats no big deal

I'm considering it... my DD is my 2008 Titan with 167K miles on it (sold my C7 in June). I don't want to spend money on a new truck and my wife's 2012 ML350 has 102K on it and she's itching for a new car as well. I daily drove a 2001 Z06 for 2 years when I was 22 and fresh out of college. When my truck goes out to pasture I may not replace it. Get the wife a newer ML or GLC and just drive the Corvette. The whole point of this car is to be a usable vehicle and I ordered a Z51 with mag ride, so supposedly touring mode is akin to a luxury sedan and the DCT should make commuting in any traffic a non-issue. If I'm going to spend $72K on a brand new car I might as well get my money worth.
Are you guys who drive these cars a bunch using PPF/clear bra? I've never bought one new and always track them so they get beat up and I stop caring. For this car I'd like to protect it and use PPF on the front, lower sides, and side mirrors.

I have driven my sports cars to work, but not very often.
As far as film, I use it and it helps. At track speeds pebbles will still punch a few holes in the film, however, and I believe most films that have paint protection warranties exclude track use. At normal highway speeds, it works well.

cool wife...got a photo...?
fwiw any daily driving and all the issues people worry about? Non events...bend a rim a little? Get the rims fixed...its all of a $150 ? Cant perfectly fix the oem rim?
BUY a set of take offs For $500 off the forums or local off of craigslist from a guy who bought aftermarket rims for his garage queen...
never had a windshield chip on a corvette in 250k miles of daily use but for $75 a year your insurance carrier replaces the windshield...
dirt on the car or undercarriage washes off...
i never understood the value of saving a car even one thats a corvette.
use it...enjoy it and if need be just replace it.
all cars are depreciating assets...
have fun ..one trip one journey and then life is over..
its not the things we own but rather the experiences we can enjoy that makes life worthwhile.
why save it for the next owner?

I can't afford three cars (DD for my wife, myself, and then an expensive 'toy'). As such, my Corvettes have always been 'daily drivers'. My wife gets the better end of the deal as her workplace is 10 miles away and mine is 40 miles away so she's driven all my vettes on most weekdays to keep the mileage down. Cars are meant to be enjoyed so I believe they should be driven whenever possible.
