Default One C8 design element not commented on

It's beginning to wear on me that the rear side Air Scoop was not blended into the side body more . What you think ?

I think it’s great. It flows with all the sharp edges that the c8 has.

Very pedestrian looking - GM could have done a way better job - looks rushed - oh well

What?? The side scoop was discussed for about a year leading up to and after the cars reveal.

I think it would look better without the black plastic stick on Mattel trim piece. But that is my opinion. I like the shape but I believe that GM designers
could have done better with the design after working on it for several years.

My only gripe is the black trim. Purely subjective.

If I pick any color other than black, I'll get the painted accent option.

It functions to capture cooling air! Form following function. Same as the Z51 spoiler.

I am taking mine to a body shop to have the thing extended and painted body color.
Extended means they will build up the part on the door so that is matches the profile of the scoop on the fender.

Pedestrian? I guess Ferrari and Mclaren designers went to the same pedestrian schools....

Looks like an afterthought. I felt the Corvette design team really missed the boat on it. The C8.R side scoop looks so much better. Still don’t like that nutscratcher door extension. Really thought if the side scoop would have been moved more rearward and not extending into the door it would have had a more cohesion design look. That’s JMHO. YMMV.

Yep, side scoop design and shape is dictated primarily by the need for a sufficient cool air supply, which is governed by the laws of fluid dynamics. What looks best is subjective and doesn't necessarily work.

Ok now, I'm not the biggest fan of C8Jake... but this is so hypocritical. You literally started a thread complaining about something in the car, 5 months after the reveal. Then when C8Jake posted, saying something along the lines of he likes it.... you tell him he "you **** and moan about everything go buy a Mustang". Uh... what??

I think a lot of people in this forum need to get a life and quit complaining about everything.

C8Jake doesn’t complain about everything, he calls BS on silly topics, overly discussed repeat threads, and useless complaints by chronic complainers when he sees it.
