I wouldn't have chrome wheels as it makes the car look like a full scale model. I wouldn't have black wheels as it makes the car look like it's heading to the junk yard. Just loses all contrast and looks like a car with stamped steel wheels missing a hub cap. I don't dislike black wheels, I hate them. They are a deal breaker for me, wouldn't buy the car with them. I do really like the nickel finish on some of the C7 wheels, just the perfect look to a wheel for me. It's all personal preference, but I don't understand why anyone would choose a black wheel.

They have good options that aren't black "I lost my Hub Cap" wheels
I'm going Spectra Gray Machined Trident Spoke

My C7 had Chrome Painted or not it was the look I liked on that car

I still have 1 car with Chrome, appropriate for the Car

Totally agree on the black wheels. I don't love chrome, but I hate black wheels. It just creates a giant black void under the wheel well. I don't see as many black wheels as a I did a few years ago. Maybe the horrible fad is dying out.

The reason they're not on the C8 is because of GM's decision to target younger customers.
gm did nothing to target younger buyers

Most of the Chrome plating on Aluminum tends to eventually flake off due to the differences in how the materials expand and contract with temperature.

I'm 20. I'm more interested in the C8 than previous Corvettes so I am pretty sure they did....

They are PVD last I checked. You really can't tell the difference between real chrome and PVD by looking at them. The fact that the barrel is painted actually implies they are PVD anyway, the process of chroming doesn't really allow for the barrel to not be impacted.

The only black rim that I thought looked decent was on a police car with a center chrome cap .Black rims imho look like a black hole in a fender well....

Your all so disconnected from the car world.

Black Wheels,

Chrome Wheels,

They've have no Character!

You "Dang" Youngsters, with your Chromed, and Painted wheels "Flat Faced", way to much "Positive" offset, even back in the C1/C2 Era, little better with the C3s'.

Real MEN, put 'Polished Aluminum" wheels with 3.0" of Negative Offset so the wheels have 3.0" of exposed hoop showing. Real Men spin hours each month with their Cars, "Polishing them" to try and keep them looking good". Even "Henry" approves.of butchering a C2 body so you can get some 'Polished Aluminum Wheel on a "C2".....Bunch of Pussies...

By the way, "NEVER PUT "BLACK WHEELS" ON A WHITE CAR. WHITE IS BLAND, NEED TO BRIGHTEN THE LOOK, NOT CONTRAST IT....

I'm not a fan of black wheels on most cars. The wheel loses it's character, and ends up being just a black blob.

Just relax fgear.if you want Chrome you will just need to get it aftermarket. Not a problem. That’s what i’ll be doing.

Jesus. Yet ANOTHER chrome wheel thread? It's 2019- chrome wheels do not belong on cars (especially sports cars) just like chrome bumpers don't. You want chrome wheels- there are plenty of aftermarket options.

I agree. Some colors just look better with bright aluminum or chrome wheels .
To me LBR is one color that looks best with chrome wheels while any shade of grey looks better with black.

Thankfully Chrome wheels are gone (finally) for a long long time! They don't belong on a modern day sports car! And I get why some don't like black wheels, but the Corvette still offers, polished look, spectra or gray and a couple of other option to suit your needs, go with one of those and quit dwelling on the past!
