LOL, watch out almost this entire forum flamed him as a douche who knows nothing about cars and is a trust fund baby.
He really enjoyed the car on track and shared both the pros and cons of this car in the last segment of the video.
Pros:
- GM did an awesome job with their first mid engine.
- Turn in is sharp and with the new ME design the seating and sight lines are better than ever.
- He really liked the chasis setup.
- Yes there is understeer but he discusses how to reduce this and overcome it on track
- It's very fast and braking was good/adequate
- DCT shifts fast. Matt hated the A8 in the C7 and said this is the best automatic GM has made yet
- He loved the competition seats. He's a big guy and fit fine even with a helmet.
- Redline is 6800rpm and the lowest of any ME car he has driven
- At the track he praised the car at the price point.
At the end of the video:
- It's still a Chevy. There are still cheap plastics in the car that other (more expensive cars) don't have. But he said the high area touchpoints are nice
- The cockpit is great if your the driver but it sucks if your the passenger (wall of buttons and crampt). - Not as refined as a Porsche in terms of layout and materials.
- The DCT was not as smooth on the street and not on par with PDK/etc. It feels more setup for the track.
He basically says it's the best Corvette yet.

Reviews are kind of all over the map. C8 verses C7 Z51...C8 wins
0-60 2.8 awesome 1/4 mile good.
Big understeer, marginally poorer breaking...plenty of stuff for the track rats not to like.
Great GT car, which is what most of the buyers are looking for. Fast, comfy, great ride, good looking
nice interior but hey it's a poor example of an entry level mid engine car according to some.
From what I am seeing this is a home run for all.

It doesn't take away for my love of Corvette, but it's a whole different community from the JDM side which is where I came from previously.

Imagine him trying to shoot the first video where he wasn't allowed to show any emotion one way or the other, must have been really tough for him to do.
Probably as tough as reading some of the comments said about him and how he wouldn't like the car, biased, **** driver/reviewer, etc...when secretly he was absolutely in love with it.
