It doesn't take away for my love of Corvette, but it's a whole different community from the JDM side which is where I came from previously.
I had a C7 briefly and went to a 911, the community was night and day different. Was hoping younger newer buyers would change this place up. I was wrong, it's exactly the same.

From Tristin Murphy, lead designer - "Everything that your hands can touch or feel inside the C8 Corvette is covered in a premium-feeling material. “We wanted to treat everything inside the car like luggage or wrapped goods,” continues Murphy. “We made sure that everything single thing you touch is either leather-wrapped, suede-wrapped, carbon-fiber or aluminum. Even the simple door pull and you can look at that and nothing you touch is bare plastic. Everything is premium.”

How is the P car community? I've been lusting after a Cayman for a while and couldn't get a read on the community.

I’m in New England but it’s awesome here. The have a really good club and sponsor HPDE events and seem much more like car enthusiasts than Porsche snobs or fanboys.

With all due respect to his opinions, there's something that I think needs to be pointed out.

Watch this video

It just doesn't seem like, he, well.... knows how to drive. He's slowing down, coming in too fast, wrenches the wheel, no throttle, then complains about understeer? Atleast that's how it looked. Compare it the the driver above. HUGE difference.

To put in in perspective, watch the same car, on the same day, on the same track, driven by someone that knows how to track. The only reason I mention this is he thinks the car understeers. Driven like he drives (barely in control, no technical or instinctual skills at all), it's not surprising.

Watch the hot lop, that's how it's done.
It was his first lap in the car on that track and he’s trying to talk to the camera while he’s driving. It’s not like he was racing for time, he was exploring the car and having fun. The guy who’s driving in that video is barely faster than Matt all things equal.

I thought Farah entered a lot of turns too fast, and turned too late. He was lucky not to go off the track a couple of times. Scary...

Yes, I have a deep concern over the wall of buttons. I KNOW my wife will hate it. Since she pays half on a car we buy, she will not be happy.

we justifiably don't Like Fat Matt, because he's a clueless moron pretending to be a car
expert, who is an insult to real auto journalists
the fact that he's a slob is just icing on the cake.
so, are you Matt, or one of his stoner Prep School Buddies?
as far as calling us ******** and keyboard Warriors. Unfortunately, I have no filter in the real world either. Just ask anyone on here who knows me LOL I've spoken my mind to the faces of guys on here, that would fold Matt Farah in half. lol

This is what i'm talking about right here. I don't know Matt nor do i care about him. The only thing i care about is the fact he likes cars like i do. Even if i hated the guy, i wouldn't call him a fat slob while sitting in the comfort of my house. I don't even know you but judging by the way you talk, you seem like you'd easily get stomped into the ground.

I'm new here and generally disappointed in the behavior as well.

So many folks on the C8 side that WANT this car to FAIL. I just don't get that.
Stay on your side, C5, C6 or whatever then. So much negativity.

ironic, in light of the fact I told FatMat to his face how I felt at Englishtown years ago..

It's not too bad overall. He seems to be running a bit deep into the apex on several turns. The 14 second mark looks like one of them. This gives him less time to accelerate onto the long straight. Not smooth at all. Seems to be forcing the car into the turns. But what do I know. I haven't done open wheel racing/scca in years.

The guy can have his opinion on performance but to talk about the interior in a negative way, he loses all credibility! He is either clueless or just talking out of his *** when it comes to the interior!! I can take him any German sports car over $100K and show him how the C8's 3LT interior is superior!! He is just going by perception and not reality or like I said perhaps clueless!! This is not a German vs. Domestic or British vs. Domestic issue for me as most cars I've had have been imports but just hate BS when I hear it when it comes to the C8's interior! This interior feels and looks very rich and sexy!!!

Why don’t you watch the video? He said the high touch areas are rally nice. The steering wheel and gauges are nice. The seats are great. But in areas that are not high touch GM used cheap plastic. The car is a fighter cockpit with tons of glossy buttons and a screen angled for the driver. He’s not saying it’s bad but he’s saying it’s not as nice a place to be for a passenger and not as practical as other cars.

All this is pretty factual. Why are you so upset??
