Road & Track review.....

Almost exactly as I recently posted.
0-60 MPH in 2.8 seconds (If you can do that consistently will beat most exotics)
Will beat a C7 Z06 to 100MPH and maybe beat it in the Quarter Mile, lost by 1/10th.
Overweight as I said, 3,647lbs.
And braking not as good as the previous C7.

Nope.

Indeed, the C8 feels as approachable on the track as it does on the road. That’s a rare combination, one worthy of respect. The C8 has ours.

“And yet the C8 laid down a blazing 2.8-second 0-to-60-mph run, absolutely crucifying the C7’s 3.9-second performance. Dropping nearly one-third of the time from an acceleration run with no additional power is possibly the biggest coup ever accomplished by an automaker since the miracle of harnessing combustion itself.”
That 2.8 number looks to be consistent across reviews...

People are getting butt hurt because the C7 is a better all around handling car then the C8.

"The good news is that the Corvette’s first-ever 8-speed dual-clutch automatic moves the car off the line smoothly, and shifts are executed with less of a delay than with the old 8-speed automatic. And then there’s the less-than-good news: we doubt, even once it’s in production tune, that the Tremec dual-clutch will respond to shift commands as quickly as the DCTs from Porsche, McLaren, or Lamborghini. Ditto with actual shift times. This transmission, at least in preproduction trim, seems a good ways off the best."
I want a nice GT car...The C8 either standard or Z-51 does it for me. And it's very affordable.

I just think it's safe to say the hype of the car outweighs the total results. I think some guys instantly thought it was somehow now a super car just because of the new platform. Now is the reality. It's good, but don't put it on a pedestal more then it is.
I have faith GM will make it better with the higher tier models. This is only the beginning after all.

In REALITY...for the driving 98% of us actually do...What does .1 second here, or 1.01 vs 1.14 G really and truly matter?

Wow, the reviews are pretty brutal on the performance side for the C8. I was excepting it to be better in every category than a C7. Appears it is only better in the 0-60 time which is disappointing to say the least. I expected a lot more. Guess that is my fault. Oh well.

@RichieRichZ06 how's that time?

Racing on the street is dumb and dangerous. Take it to the track instead of endangering everyone's life around you. And the king to the street is the Tesla Model P100D at 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds if you are in to that. Personally I think 0-60 times are only good for bragging rights at Car's and Coffee.

Forget about street racing I bet the majority of C8 owners will never use launch control more than once or twice. And most won't use the paddles to shift, they will just put the car in auto mode and tour mode.
Should a bought a Cadillac

Looks like a win/win to me. The guys who were on the fence on picking up a great deal on all C7 versions can now do that and pat themselves and each other on the back for being so wise, the folks keeping their C7 have known all along they are great and very capable cars, and the serious C8 buyers lining up have no real reason to change their minds.
