Default Order Placed! My minimalist track/performance edition spec

Just finalized my order today after a bunch of back and forth on a few options. My wife has an M4 fully loaded, so that will be our "primary" car for road trips, groceries, errands, etc.. This car will purely be the fun car, so decided to skip out on alot of the "luxury" items and went all in on the performance bits. My whole idea on this is that GM has never been good as a "luxury" brand so why would you need to all the tacky luxury add ons? I'm coming from a 991 911 C2S, so alot of the standard features are more than what I had on my 911. Below is my spec which I think is a great balance of sportiness and understatement. Anyway below is my build all in for $72,115

1LT
- Arctic White
- z51 package
- z51 performance suspension with Magnetic Selective Ride Control
- Carbon Flash Metallic-painted outside mirrors and spoiler
- Bright Red-painted calipers
- Carbon Flash-painted aluminum wheels with machined edge
- Rocker panel extensions in Black
- Competition Sport bucket seats
- Sueded microber-wrapped steering wheel

Congrats...

I don't think I would call 3lt items "tacky"
suede upper trim, HUD, upgraded sound, Napa leather, upgraded adjustable heated and cooled seats, heated wheel, phone charging, PDR, rear camera mirror...... Etc etc.

I ordered a 1lt as well, but nothing about the 3lt is tacky... And it's hard to argue it's not a reasonable value... Especially if you're a Porsche guy and know what they charge... Which is about double per similar option than Chevy.
911s have optional "wood trim" for 2 Grand that is a 2 inch wide strip along half the dash... Just for reference on what is truly tacky 😀

I can see how my word choice of “tacky” came off wrong, apologize for that did not mean it in the sense that it came off of. 3LT is a beautiful interior, I personally prefer less in terms of styling. The biggest annoying bit for me was the shiny speaker grills on the side and middle as well as the camera in the top back of the exterior. I have ocd with these things and it would annoy me like crazy.

Ordered through Boardwalk in Northern California. Probably not “officially” in but my SA is ready to pull the trigger once 1LT spots open up. With the strike happening i’m guessing April or May for delivery.

Im with you. My reservation order is for a torch red black interior c8
z51
fe4 (mrc shocks)
1LT

i was thinking about the performance fabric competition seats but wasnt feeling the fabric at $1500 and the kicker was being forced into the mocrofiber steering wheel for another $600.

i had a DSV ultrasuede d shaped wheel on my present corvette and while at first I loved the sweet feel of that steering wheel...i leave the targa roof off all summer long and in around 24 months that ultrasuede steering wheel I had to replace with a leather d shaped dsv wheel.

good luck and Im sure you wont have any issues with the factory oem microsuede wheel. I just had a bad taste in my mouth over it and I wasnt loving the performance fabric like the GM guys at carlisle...be.ieve it or not I would have preferred a microfiber suede like insert...(go figure right? After my steering wheel debacle)

My first impression of the performance fabric at kerbecks wasnt favorable although my second exposure to performance fabric wasn't as bad. it just wasnt 2100 dollars worth to me.

I'm all in at 67 grand for the z51 fe4 1Lt and hope to get back to doing a few driver events in the c8 z51 fe4. Should be quite the performance sports car .

Now if the strike ever ends we re all good.

I was figuring april may and I hope it doesnt go much longer.

if 1LT becomes a further production issue for this sports car as my fourth new corvette z51 or z06 Ill consider flipping a coin to see if I alter my order for a 2LT...but as the marketing guys figured...if I do 2LT then I might as well,do E60 ...and if I do the E60 then why not the leather competition seat etc...it just keeps snowballing just as the marketing guys have figured and I prefer to stay simple....

so its z51 fe4 and call it...i project based off of previous experience that the 2 year old 67 grand c8 so option will have a resale value at that time of 57 or 58 grand which is a hell of a deal should the z06 call my name .

we all know or I should say Believe the c8 z06 should come in under or around 90 to start give or take a few grand and possibly some desired option......

i hesitate to bring in the standard 2020 495 hp stingray at close to that price...

just a personal choice Id imagine...

Im sure many others would agree.

have fun...i did just see the Doug demuro quirks, features and test drive of the new and beautiful porsche 992 911s video on youtube. Im sure many of the porsche enthusiasts are at least entertaining the examination of the c8 z51 this time around. Both great choices...I always give a thumbs up to both brands as I see them on the road...whatever generation.

Welcome aboard...this new c8 should be a blast.

That's a great spec. Probably will have the best resale too.

In for the 1LT as well
ELB w/ Comp Seats, Z51, Mag Ride, High Wing and Yellow Calipers. Was originally in the 170's at Kerbeck but now all those constraints have pushed me waaaay back.

A true minimalist performance car would be sans Z51. Base car is lighter and faster.

I mostly only got the z51 for the adjustable suspension. Had it on my 2014 C7 and was my favorite part of the car.

Top speed is irrelevant in a road course. The Z51 will produce substantially faster lap times.

The 997 TT's had a full aspen option that was a $10K option...the guys in Rennlist hated it but I thought it looked classy...mine didn't have the Aspen option but I did like that option. As they say, beauty is in the eye.
