While I was at the C8 show today I did a video showing my Accelerate Yellow sprayout against the optional yellow caliper. The colors are not the same, the caliper has way more metallic in it, it has a non-glossy finish and is more to the gold side of yellow. Cool color but not an exact match to the Accelerate Yellow.

You don’t want an exact match, but the colors should complement each other and they do.

I wish you would have held the paint sample on the car instead.

Great video thanks. I can’t bring myself to spec the AY exterior but I will be going with the yellow calipers to match my black with yellow stitch interior on a CMG exterior.

After seeing the yellow calipers in person, they are very unique and are growing on me. I know the angry mob hates the yellow calipers but I see it as a way to look different and I like the look against the CMG blueish tint.


I wish they had a blue caliper option and a black with blue stitch interior as that would be my preferred spec, but they need to hold back something for the ZR1 I suppose.

I would characterize the yellow caliper as "Pearl-effect" from the picture. Need to see it in person, but kind of like it.

I've looked at video and pictures of the caliper sample and thought it was darker than the car sample, this just confirms that.

That yellow caliper is going to complement the metallic in the AY paint...

Not just a good complement for the AY. I think it is going to work well with Elkhart Lake Blue metallic too.

Caliper colors have NEVER matched the "same" body paint. The C7 red is close but the yellow isn't near to matching.Terrible decision IMHO.

Brake calipers have to deal with a much higher heat - some of the old Cadillac CTS-V calipers were silver, but after a few track days, the clear coat turned yellow/gold.
