Engine and trunk access convertible
Love the convertible and there are many picures/videos of the convertible top itself but no pictures of the trunk and engine access. Little worried that engine access might be limited. Are there any pics with the engine lid open?

It looks like there is a panel over the engine where the HardTop folds back.
Don't know if it is to protect the Engine or the Top.
Might be needed for Air Flow.

When the small/shorter deck is opened, there is the identically sized trunk in the HT as there is in the coupe. As to engine access, there is a second panel that is lifted up for same engine access. That panel is made of material to protect the bottom of the HT's roof from engine heat.
Before anyone gets worried that the HT is going to have more difficulties keeping the engine cool, exactly the opposite, that due to the smaller engine compartment size, and more efficient air flow throw that compartment, it is actually easier to cool the HT's engine compartment area than the coupe.

You can kind of see the engine cover here. Taken from ~23 seconds into this video:

Funny, but it is a legitimate question. McLaren allows this space to be used for storage when the top is up. Start at 1:24 in the video below to see how it operates:

I think you are misunderstanding what I'm asking. On the McLaren, the tonneau cover (exterior panel that hides the roof when stowed) is able to be raised/lowered without actuating the top. It is designed to allow access to the top storage area with the top up. There are two separate buttons dedicated to this operation (tonneau up and tonneau down) in addition to the main convertible up/down toggle. I'm not talking about access through the firewall or rear window.

Someone reported from the KSC event today, that a GM rep said a double click on the fob opens the nacelles/tonneau for engine access.

Cool... looks easier to get to the oil fill and dipstick than the coupe.

I read that after posting as well. It will be interesting if it is somewhat easily accessible as the convertible will have more storage capacity than the coupe! You probably wouldn't want to transport ice cream but a soft duffel of clothes would probably work out nicely.
