IF GM is smart..... they will look at the hits they got the day of the C8 reveal and understand their best chance for maximum social media/ online PR effect would be to release it as the event is going on and not delay it a few days.

Compared to the congfigurator that has existed on chevy.com for many years now, this configurator is a large step backwards. It is obviously a hastily contrived and extremely "lite" version of the real configurator which allows you to choose every option available and gives you the price for everything you choose. The chevy.com web site has a configurator that is well-tested with excellent choices. With the configurator that was brought up at the reveal, you take your chances. Brought to us in haste, it really needs to be erased at the earliest opportunity. Compared to the real configuator, this is a clear embarrassment.
Your option without the visualizer would be to have nothing other that the price sheets, online order guide and one of the spreadsheets that have been posted here. GM won't put up the Build Your Own until sometime after C7 production has ended. That's always been the case. The visualizer is a huge step forward from the C7 rollout.
IMO having the price sheets, the online order guide, and the spreadsheets presents a far suprior amount of information than the recent congfigurator, which is nothing more than a rather poor visualizer that is subject to error and has proven very unstable over the last few weeks. The chevy.com site has both 2019 and 2020 vehicles on site right now. There is no reason at all that Chevy could not also include the Corvette as they have with their other models. I look forward to the more mature site being updated so that we can leave this hasty hack job of a visualizer behind for good.
Yes, Chevy could put the 2020 Corvette on the Build Your Own, but past history says they won't for some time. BTW, the BYO is not always accurate either. The visualizer is good for looking at different colors and visible options, something the order guide, price sheets and spreadsheet don't provide. I do find the visualizer to be "sensitive" to the browser you use. Using Chrome it gives me problems.
