Default Am I getting the runaround?

Just spoke to the GM at my dealer (I'm #10 on the list) because I wasn't getting called back by my sales rep. So he said any time I want to configure and place my order I can come down and do so, however the car won't be actually ordered until closer to the december build date, which is fine.

The couple of things I have a problem with are now he's saying that even though it's being built in December, they may not see a car delivered until late March or even into April. The other thing he wouldn't commit to was selling at MSRP. He said their policy is to sell at "market pricing", which is purposely vague. This is the largest GM dealer in my city, which is a major metro area.

These things seem to differ from what I've heard at other dealers. What would you do, run?

GO DIRECTLY to the owner.....if they won't put those thing on paper, as in a sales document. Find yourself another dealer.

Better dealers and sales staffs with integrity out there, that's typical bullcrap car salesman talk.
Go out of state if you have to. Good luck.

If he didn't tell you are paying MSRP you are not going to be paying MSRP.

You should "market adjust" yourself to another dealer.

Market pricing = Additional Dealer Markup. There are plenty of dealers committed to MSRP, including the largest dealers in the country. How much are you willing to pay to be "first"?

If your dealer will have allocations I doubt that he knows now exactly when your car will be built. A first year new generation goes for MSRP at a lot of dealers. A refundable deposit ,in writing, until GM accepts your build is also doable at a lot of quality dealers.

December order placement, April delivery sounds reasonable. Not committing to giving you a signed paper saying sale price is MSRP is a deal breaker. Start looking elsewhere.

Several red flags. If ordered in December, it will NOT be built in December. September orders have taken December’s production. We have seen September orders with Dec19 TPWs. That’s the last build week in Dec.

Market price means they plan to charge over MSRP, probably by thousands.

MacMulkin has allocations available at MSPR and zero dealer fees.

It depends, do you wish to be overcharged, simply to be one of the first owners in your area? If so you've made your own bed.

I would get a different dealer at MSRP or try to get them to commit to MSRP. I made sure, as did my son, that I had the MSRP as part of the deposit documentation. I would call them back and let them no if they will not commit to MSRP you are cancelling your order wiith them.
