C8 in Green Bay
Thanks to the forum I learned the Chevrolet C8 display would be in Green Bay, WI today at Lambeau Field displayed in the atrium. This is a beautiful venue so off the wife and I went early this morning to make the 3 hour drive to see it. Display hours were 8AM to 10PM and we were there by 9. About 30 people were the admiring the car.
The car is fabulous! I am not a Corvette die hard but have owned a C3, C5, and C7. I watched the renderings, reveal, read the praises and considered the negatives, but I have to say, in person the car is stunning. I am not much of a fan of blade silver, maybe it was the combination of the interior lighting and the light from the tall glass wall of the atrium, but the C8 in silver with the black accents, spectra grey trident wheels, and grey black interior is a killer combination.
Everyone seemed afraid to get up close and personal with the car so I felt for the door button. No go. I asked the young lady attendant if it would be open and she said, "No, Chevrolet wants to maintain the integrity of the car." A major FAIL in my opinion Chevrolet! That was disappointing and I made it well known.
The seat, wheel, steering wheel, interior colors, and paint colors were on display as well as an electronic touch screen display. I studied the Accelerate Yellow closely and used the LED light on the phone to get light into it at different angles (I have painted all my life). It is not as green as has been proposed on the forums. There is a very fine metallic that was impossible to photograph with my phone. It seems to be a complicated color that will have different characteristic depending on lighting. It should be a great color in the sun.
Again the car is amazing. Are there a few quirks that I would design differently? Maybe, maybe not. Would they be better? Probably not. GM hit a triple home run with this car. I have a feeling the Z06 will be a grand slam. Was it worth the 6 hour round trip to just see it? Absolutely!
By the way, as we left a group of Corvettes pulled in the parking lot, mostly C7's. Great looking cars (and I don't mean to be offensive) but in my opinion, hopelessly dated after looking at the C8.

Awesome post....thanks for taking the time to post. Too darn bad they would open it up for people to sit in it. I had the chance both at the dealership where I purchased my '19 as well as Carlisle where there were 14 of them. Like you, Silver was not on my radar for a Corvette, but after seeing the Blade Silver at Carlisle with the 2-tone Tension/Twilight Blue interior I quickly changed my mind!

I was torn on white or blade silver for weeks. Finally decide to go silver as it's a bit more unique, than ALL the white Corvettes out there.
And I think it shows the lines of the car better than Arctic White.
Thanks for the photos, it looks great in silver.

Blade Silver and the Cool Sky Gray two-tone is a winning combo.
I would have liked to see yellow calipers for contrast.

Thank you for the pictures! And thank you for your explanation for the accelerate yellow. Can't wait to see it in Dallas next month!

Melting Slicks
EVS in Saukville, Wi. Will have it Sept. 30th, if I can’t sit in it to check for fit, I’ll pass. I’ve seen it already at Road America.

Green Bay? What do you get, about a 3 month Corvette driving season?
