GT2 without a doubt. I much preferred the Competition seats on the C7, but on the C8 I'm not a fan of the "Performance Textile" material as well as some other things I don't like on the Comp seats. And the headrest on the GT1 seat looks weird, plus it is limited on seat controls. I'm getting a 3LT so I couldn't get GT1s anyway!

I was originally leaning GT1 seats with the plan to throw some buckets in there. But the comp seats, if they hold my little *** for the track, will be a better and more comfortable option for day to day driving for less money.

I'm getting the GT2 seats but I'm getting a 3LT so it comes with the GT2 seats. I've seen some comments that the GT2 seats have firmer foam than the GT1 seats which seems strange since the GT2 seats are standard on the 3LT which is usually considered more luxurious interior.

Went with the GT2 seats. More comfort than the GT1, especially on long trips. They are more ergonomically designed. One can see the difference just by looking at them, Plus I like having the memory controls on the LT 2/3 trim pkgs.

I just noticed that the GT1 seats seem to have retained the C7 style seat belt retainer, whereas the GT2 and Competition seat have a newly designed seat belt retainer clip that solves the problem of the belt coming out.

And, when ordered as HTP, Black w/sueded inserts and, N26 steering wheel, the stitching is in light gray. The steering wheel also comes with a gray"Tops Up" band.

Interesting observation. The GT2/3 belt clips are also slightly higher and further out. The C7 manual said the clips were only for smaller people. I wonder if they will have that same statement for the C8.

Prefer? GT2. Buy? Not sure I'm willing to spend $1500 for a couple of little pieces of CF and some glossy black paint, so maybe GT1.

I thought the same and had selected the GT1 seats on my order until I sat in both at the NCM. They look similar in shape, but don't feel the same at all. The bottom seat cushion uses a higher density foam and doesn't compress down like the GT1 seat. It also has more support under your thighs and is a good compromise for those not getting the Comp seat. If you like the base seats in the C7, then you'll like the GT1 seat, but the GT2 is a better seat and I changed my order to the GT2.

The difference between the two is like night and day. One only need look at the pictures below posted by Maxie2U at the start of this thread. The GT2 looks just so much better than the GT1. Rember, it's your butt and back. I wouldn't cheap out on the seats. ymmv
When you compare this GT2 seat to the picture higher up in this thread...there is a definite difference in the leather back panels... which one is correct, or are these two different sub-styles??

Actually post #1 has 2 pictures of each seat. As you point out, the seat back on the GT2 is different in the 2 pictures. I am also curious as to which is correct. Both the GT1 and Competition seat have the “wing” shaped stitching. Hopefully the GT2 does as well.

I think this picture is a better comparison of the GT1 and GT2. Other than the headrest design, very little difference in the shape of the seats.

I've sat in all three seat options and prefer the GT2 seat. I had an opportunity to sit in the Competition Seat for about 15-20 minutes and, unless you are smaller in the hips and legs than I am, you will likely find this seat to be a little uncomfortable after a while. The lower bolsters reminded me of the bolsters on my 1991 ZR1. I'm too big to fit in that seat the way it's designed. It will be awesome for those who do fit it and want that seat for track use.

The headrest area is very different. I much prefer the open design of the GT2, the carbon fiber trim plus the better seat belt retainer.

Per the C7 owners manual: "The seat has a seat belt guide. The seat belt guide helps position the shoulder belt over the shoulder and across the chest of smaller adults and of older children who have outgrown booster seats. To use the seat belt guide, slide the edge of the belt webbing through the opening on the guide."
The purpose of the seat belt guide is to position the belt properly on smaller adults and children. On normal and larger size adults, the seat belt guide is not necessary and can place the belt in a less than desirable position for optimal protection.
