C2 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified 2020

Default $58,995 up front on C8 corvette payment???

Dealer called my friend, took his order last week made him wire a $6,000 check to Kerbeck , Now says send 58,995 base price of car to get the order in?? DOES this make sense , thought you would make this final payment when car came in. MSRP on C8 was around 91K . Anyone else ordering a car from Kerbeck have to do this?? Thanks in advance!!

I recall reading posts on the topic, specifically the order code status definition and at which point (order code) payment is required. You should be able to find one of those posts.

I would make sure your friend is not getting scammed. There is no way Kerbeck would ask for $60K upfront when the car won't even be delivered for like 4 more months if he's lucky.

It's not unheard of. A salesman at Champion Porsche (Largest Porsche dealer in US) was busted being a bad boy...

Tell your friend to get his deposit back... no reputable dealer would require a 90% deposit for a car that probably wont be built till March next year.... $ 6,000 is too much

Wired $6,000 plus need $58,995? My guess is that either this thread is just a joke or your friend is out $6,000. Simple solution is to call Kerbeck. Quickly!!

I dont have experience with pre ordering a car, but damn that feels off. The deposit is to secure your spot. Only reason i could see a dealer asking for more would be if i was ordering something like denver broncos colors with orange seatbelts blue interior from a dealer in kansas city lol.

The fact they took the 6k then ask for more? I would think scam immediately. Call the dealer, make sure they are the ones requesting. re confirm the wiring instructions if you still want to do business with them. Hell I'd probably call back and talk to someone else as well to confirm you don't have some guy in the service department scamming you.

Two weeks before the C8 reveal I was going to order the New 2020 Porsche 911S. thank god I waited.

My Porsche dealer wanted $10,000 Non-refundable to hold the car.

That's a scam. You should not pay anything besides a deposit until the car arrives.

That is a scam Porsche dealer, because all Deposits are refundable at most Porsche dealers I know of in my area.

I really doubt the Kerbeck Dealership is involved in this, something else is wrong here. Hope no one is harmed.

My buddy contacted kerbeck salesman ,sent him a picture of the email on Kerbeck letter head stating to send the 58,900 base price to his salesman Joe, and Joe replied its a scam!! So BEWARE all C8 hopefuls there is a scam going out to steal your money!! Do not send a dime until you know for sure its the REAL deal!!
