That’s why you should use a secure Internet connection for sending money, instead of the one at Dunkin‘ Donuts while you’re chompin’ a glazed.

Ordered a 911 GTS built to order on $2K down, nothing else until delivery. I personally think it’s a scam dealers taking anything nonrefundable as any undelivered C8 can be sold at a big mark up on a dealer lot for those that have to have one without the wait.

Then another $10k when ordered, total of $20k.
Both Non-Refundable.
I asked why no refund?
The dealer said most people choose their Own Options and others may not like what I chose if I canceled the order.
Then the dealer told me the car was super Hot. I said "if it's really that hot you should be able to resell it in one day."

Dealer called my friend, took his order last week made him wire a $6,000 check to Kerbeck , Now says send 58,995 base price of car to get the order in?? DOES this make sense , thought you would make this final payment when car came in. MSRP on C8 was around 91K . Anyone else ordering a car from Kerbeck have to do this?? Thanks in advance!!

GM does NOT require full payment in advance nor does a dealer. I doubt dealers have changed much since I ordered my C7. At that time, I gave MacMulkin Chevrolet a $2000 deposit which was not refundable once GM accepted the order. I did not pay the balance to MacMulkin Chevrolet until AFTER the car arrived at my local dealer and only after I inspected it.
NEVER EVER PAY FOR A CAR UNTIL YOU CAN DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT!

However, you are not likely to be able to purchase a C8 the first year, without at least a refundable deposit.

Clearly you have not factory ordered a C7 if you had you would have to pony up the deposit. The only reason I would not have taken the car is if it had sustained damage during transportation which the dealer would have to deal with not me and I would not have lost my deposit.

I'd expect to put more down on something like a 911 GT3 RS or RS2. Part of the appeal the Vette is it's a world class attainable sports car, yet unscrupulous dealers are preying on the dreams of the gullible.

The balance isn't paid for until the car is ready for delivery. Most people will finance through the dealership at that point. Anybody gullible to fall for a scam like this shouldn't be buying a corvette. Most likely, the OP's friend's email account was compromised.

I gave Mike Furman, $1000.. He'll get the balance when I get my car... NO dealer will lose ANY money in the first year on a C8... If the guy that orders it bails, it will get sold very quickly.. Hell, the dealer doesn't even pay for the car until they get it.. (and not even then usually, they get it from GM on credit)
