The unannounced color option
#21
Raises hand!!!! Seriously I have been thinking the same thing. I think GM must be holding that one back...maybe as a Z option color? "Standout Green" would put the C8 on top of the car world and would have even the Italians screaming uncle.

That was for the total plant expansion, not just the paint shop. Paint shop is a small part of the total expansion.

I like it but wouldn’t drive it. Question is would you pay 10k extra for that PTS?

I think a paint to sample option would be awesome even if I didn’t partake. Porsche charges like $5k for it and you know it’s almost pure profit lol. A next tier option could be colors not offered for Corvette specifically but actually part of Chevrolet’s current color palette. For me, I’d take sterling blue in a heartbeat but am going to have to settle for orange tint coat.

The other thing about PTS is getting an allocation, approved color, timing, etc...it’s a bitch of a process and not always available. Current 718 GT4 and Spyder are not available for PTS for MY20.

Dang 12 color choices and folks not happy.
Even if you don't count the shades of gray, they're giving us seven real colors to choose from. More than most of the competition offers. Most of the colors are free too, and only $500 or $1k for the upcharge colors, again cheap by comparison.
Time to bump up them xans and get happier.

Yeah, I was really disappointed with the color choices. Where’s the better reds and oranges? Heck, even a brighter yellow, or even a nicer blue. I’m glad you’re happy with the color selection though. They just don’t work for all...maybe for MY 2021.

Curious.....if you drop an extra $15k for a Porsche.....how does that work? You need to front the entire purchase price? How do they lock you in? I mean I order pink and change my mind at delivery how’s that work?
I don’t understand why we have to pay a fee for certain interior exterior combos, but I could see a custom paint job.
If I wanted a custom color I’d look at a wrap. Don’t know a lot about wraps but some I’ve seen are outstanding

My understanding is the paint shop only has ability to do 12 colors .
They already offer Zuez Bronze which is brown. No way GM adds another brown as they have to drop another color from the offering.
There certain untouchables
Black
Artic White
Blade Silver
Torch Red
1 gray even if not dark shadow gray
1 yellow always accelerate yellow brand new this year
1 darker blue minimum always offered
Long beach red is popular
The new Rapid blue is extremely popular 1st year offered
Zues Brown 1st year offering
Sebring orange is popular too
Cyber matrix grey is one of the newest but again seem popular
That's the 12 current offerings I dont see them dropping any.
If they do I bet on Zues Bronze would be first to go and I dont think brown is a big demand in this segment of cars.

You have every right to be disappointed but IMO you are too picky.

I like both reds, both blues. The yellow is the only one up in the air... can't really tell and no real pics yet. Orange seems to look good from the pics, and most of the competition doesn't even offer orange.

Unannounced, so... of course, "never mind."

That's hopefully just sarcasm or a joke.
Wrapping a car is a perfectly valid method to change the exterior color and graphics of a car without destroying the original paint and clear coat. Some of us get bored with the same thing all the time, so it's nice to have a system where we can change colors quicker and much cheaper than a repaint.
Plus. You can go with crazy colors and patterns for a bit, then when you go to sell you can put it back to the basic (more sellable) color.
A properly done wrap with quality materials looks just fine. Especially in the days where people are paying money for matte and primer with gloss coat.
