The fact it’s polished was not the point.

The point of this thread is plumbing and clutter.

Keep in mind that by law GM has to be emissions compliant. Your car is clearly not.

Maybe you'd prefer the engine compartment of a Ferarri. Looks much better than the C8, right?

What type of wood? What type of stain? Could have Gloss, Semi Gloss, or Satin finish as options! I see where you are going!

All polished including the block and Lingenfelter intake. Only thing painted are the fuel injectors.

Getting rid of factory clutter is possible with a little planning.

Dude.

The point was that clutter can be reduced to near zero for anyone that wants to.

Yes they will. That's the point. The engine is on display under glass to anyone who walks by the car.

The C7 did not show off the engine compartment under glass. It's not the same thing.

Not impressed with the look of the engine compartment. But for a $65k Chevy it’s not going to look like a 458 Italia.

Consider that just maybe a lot of this has to do with costs. They would rather have more marketable msrp and let after market take care of some of the owner wish list.

Possibly, but if that was the case, it would be cheaper to not have to design and produce those ugly plastic covers at all, wouldn't it?

Paint the real intake plenum red, throw the C8 fish emblem on it, and call it a day, for MUCH less than designing, producing and installing all those plastic "beauty" covers.

Looks cluttered as hell. Can hardly see anything that's even recognizable as an engine.

Here is the $300K Ferrari 488. Virtually everything you see is carbon or plastic including the painted plastic red covers on the intake plenums. Just sayin' ........

It looks like the top of a telephone pole. Is there an actual engine in there somewhere? And as for that beautiful chrome piece, how much did it cost?

I think the C7's engine compartments are the ugliest of any of the generations, especially with the superchargers, just too busy.

I did the work myself, free/fun labor. Took the engine apart, built it up and polished it as I went along. I have maybe $200 in polishing supplies, much more in engine parts.

Redlines at 7,200rpm.
Data logging with hptuners...

Building another engine now though. Destroked LS7 made for 8,500rpm.

The c-8 is no better. That's why I'm waiting for the convertible, so the window to that crap is eliminated.

I'm sure all the Corvette stores will be pumping out underhood kits left & right for the waxers.

I guess the custom hoodliner crowd will need frunk liners now, LOL!
