Update to my build order at Chevrolet of Everett
Thank you corvetteforum. Your input caused me to up my build cost another $4900
my original order Black - 2lt Adrenaline Red - z51 - FE4 - Lift - Carbon flash wheels - $76.680 is now Black - 3lt Natural Dipped suede - z51 - FE4 - Lift - standard wheels ( had to save $$ somewhere) - $80,330 - Probably $93k after tax and license and $5k adm
thanks to the advice gleaned from a lot of the helpful forum member discussions, i concluded that changing wheels later is easy, changing interior trim level is not. I learned that NAPA leather is much nicer, The 3LT package is worth the money, and Natural Dipped is very classy.

First, nice spec. But why pay a $5K dealer markup? There's tons of dealers offering at MSRP. Dealer markups are stupid to begin with... but they're EXTRA stupid on a mass production car. I'm sure you're aware of the phrase "you lose (insert amount of money) the second you drive off the lot. That is amplified when you pay a dealer markup. And since you're now upgrading from 2LT to 3LT (welcome to the 3LT club btw ) that money you are wasting on dealer markup could literally pay for your $4900 upgrade to 3LT... just saying. It's your money.

paying 5k over adm on an enthusiast vette website that actually tells people the honest dealers who are taking orders at msrp is brutal..

Anything over what I was quoted for my C8 will turn into AN E.R.A. 427 SILVER COBRA!! PERIOD!! I will not be dealing with any B.S.

Hey man whatever your reasons for paying ADM, good on you! I think it’s great you’re buying local. I’m going to assume Chevrolet of Everett is awesome to deal with and you actually want to give them business.

Yes, i do support local, one of those that goes to ACE hardware before Lowes or Home Depot but as Chev of Everett insistence on the $5k to a return customer is not good. I will work on them for other concessions if possible. To that end, i have been assured that i am in first position and hope to get early delivery. If not, may cancel and go elsewhere.

I feel that they underpriced the 1LT to make it under the 60k mark knowing most people would opt for the higher trims so it looks skewed now. Im hoping that next year the packages stay the same and only the price of the base goes up. But thats wishful thinking.

NEVER EVER EVER PAY OVER MSRP! And yes I was yelling!

It will be nice to read your review of the car when you actually have one and these "never ADM" folks are still daydreaming!

Thanks, It is tempting to go elsewhere, But they promise that i am on the early allocation, and IF I can find a zero ADM dealer at this time, where would i be on the allocation time table?

I love the thinking, "I will pay whatever over MSRP to be the FIRST to get a car"....

The way I approach local is I give them a chance to match competitor's offers. If they will not make every effort, well then I know where their "loyalties" lie, don't I.

Really boggles my mind that you would knowingly pay 5k over sticker. Of all the ways you could spend it, just handing it over to a dealer who is already making thousands on your order isn't too bright.

Good points about ADM, SO, I pay what amts to at 6.25% ADM screw on the final cost or cancel, and wait a year, And if it is delayed to 2021, will GM increase the price 5% or higher? For the big picture, order from out of state, time and effort costs. At a local dealer, if the order is not right, can refuse deliver, or can even walk away from the order. My decisions may seem stupid to some, but i somehow managed to be "bright" enough to be able to afford this. Yes , i am excited about the C8, and not the most patient guy.

It would seem obvious that those doing all the crying about $5,000 in ADM are on the borderline of actually being able to afford the car or absolutely not a real buyer to begin with. Five grand on an eighty-thousand dollar car is nothing. I know guys at my club who can lose that much every Sunday on the golf course if things don't work out.
The reality is that it is not that easy or cheap to just order one up back East and have it delivered like a hamburger. You first have to make a deposit and wait most likely far longer at this point than your local guy. Personally, I am not going to just send a check with out seeing the car when it comes in. I have seen that process go side-ways too many times. You would have to get on a plane, take the time from the rest of your life, and go look at it. After you complete the sale, you now need to get it home. You can drive it and take the time and expense or you can put it on a covered truck which is not at all cheap. None of this process is cheap nor simple and for many folks, time is worth something.
Now that you have spent the time and money to get it home, you will eventually need to find some dealer inclined to actually want to service the vehicle. Heaven forbid there should be a major problem requiring lemon law action in your future (something entirely possible on a 100% new model). In many states you would have to follow the laws of the state where you bought it and bring action there. That would be when the real problems start.
If you can truly afford the car, $5,000 is nothing at the end of the day... making life easier and having the car while others are still talking.

Not sure about the ADM, I would never do it, but these guys have a great service department. Don’t know how they will be equipped to service the C8 but it’s a good dealership, good luck with the car👍
