For those passing on the C8, why are you here?

I'm sure this thread will fire up the flame throwers, but it really shouldn't. If you are getting one, just not the first year, then that's understandable that you're here gathering info. I'm talking about the people just constantly bashing the car with zero plan of ever getting one. If you have a C7 and will not buy a C8, why aren't you just happily hanging out in the C7 section? You have a great car, nobody is asking you to change your mind, all of us are buying and driving what we want. I understand a bunch are put out by no manual, but it doesn't come that way. Why not say well, I have to have a manual, I'm going back to the C7 section? For the first time in decades, I'm excited about getting a new car, no amount of bashing or conspiracies or anything else is going to diminish that for me or anyone else that is in line for one. The bashing doesn't change anyone's mind, it just makes the person doing the bashing look bitter and pathetic. If you don't want one, that's great, enjoy your car or what else you plan on buying.
Ain't changing my mind, Trump 2020.
I've got a C6Z and love it.
Was never sold on the C7 so I stayed away fro the C7 section.
It amazes me all the haters here.
Must be jealousy.

WGAF what Generation I currently drive or like. Some opinions of others and/or their observation(s) can persuade me either way. So, why not engage in the C8 Forum discussion?
If you dislike reading other peoples comments and opinions on the upcoming C8, perhaps you should consider your own visits to the C8 Forum.
Otherwise, don't sweat it. Enjoy the C8 if that is what you are striving for. I am still keeping options open.

I might get a C8 in the future. I might not. I love my C7 Z06. It's pretty new. I just got it in January. I am interested in the C8 whether I buy one or not. Is that illegal or immoral?

According to the OP Moderator of CF, you are in violation of at least five rules. Not having a deposit down on a C8 makes you a hater and troll, That's almost as immoral as marrying your cousin.

No, but don't come here saying how great your C7 is and how much better it is than a C8 and how you would never own one. I don't go on the C7 forum stating that I think they are butt f--king ugly and would never own one. Show us C8 lovers the same respect.

I won't purchase one, but I like almost everything about the C8, except for no transmission choice, and I'm very interested in learning as much about it as possible. I would go so far as to say the vast majority of folks who have decided not to order one are interested in it and not bashing it. I hope it will be a huge success.

Owned a C6 and then a C7 after it was out for 3 years. Loved the C7 when it came out but didn't abuse my C6.. loved that car too. Much better and Cheaper..
I'll eventually own a C8.. I dislike "things" about every gen... this one it's a complete love hate affair.. love the inside more than any vette before... dislike too much of outside as of now..

Sports cars by their nature drive passions.
As a result, you'll see everything from glowing praise to ridicule. Just part of it.
Been a member here for a long time. I've never put anybody on the "ignore" list. But I've personally ignored a lot of BS.
Embrace the hobby, enjoy the cars - get what you want and enjoy what you have.

I'm basically here to keep myself up to date on the C8, just like with the C7. If or when I am in the position where I might get one I prefer not spending weeks trying to find the problem areas.
Also, I enjoy the delusional people who can't fathom why not everyone would buy the latest corvette 😁

Im not getting one, right away, but I am interested in watching the development. I definitely want a C8 Z06, so I am interested in the car. I think it looks great. I didnt before the reveal. The camo cars just had no appeal to me. Also, the Aztek is king of ugly, but, man, this is uglier.

I am a hard core manual guy. So, I know I will never own a C8. I am waiting for one of the last manual C7 Z51s to arrive. I'll add the Z51 to my '10 GS and '12 ZR1. I have been DDing Vettes for over fifty years. This has been my been my life long hobby. The C8, as a part of my hobby, interests me. I will be following the "ups and downs" of this new generation. Its what I do.

I have owned at least one of every generation. I may or may not buy a C8. This Forum offers genuine facts as well as some off the subject content. I take all comments for what they are worth and still find enough useful information for me to be here. We all have a choice on what we do.

The new C8 is a conundrum. It's an engineering and packaging achievement without peer. A remarkable automobile that will only get better. It's also the ugliest car--by far--that GM has produced since the Aztek. The design is absolute, bloated, chaos that betrays the brilliant concept drawings.

BUT there are an insignificant, small number who do come to this forum to express their negativity as if it will change minds. It's one thing to point out either faults or things one doesn't personally care for as foosh has done on rare occasion .
It's another thing to be a basher. Even tho these posters feel "entitled" because it's their right to be here, they know who they are, and what they are doing. And they are highly repetitive in their postings---imagine what it must be like to have a real conversation with them! And that feeling of "entitlement" has no age boundary.
My take is to read posts for content. If there's something new and interesting, read it. If not, ignore it. After awhile, you get to know who to ignore most of the time.
