The real reason for the C8 delay
In case some haven't seen it, the reason for the 6 month C8 delay was not due to electric issues or the rear glass cracking. About half way into development, GM decided they wanted the C8 to use the new Global B architecture. This is also the reason we saw the Cadillac key a while back, because the CT5 uses Global B too.

GM Authority posted an article today about it. I thought this was common knowledge by now. I couldn't remember or not if it was addressed at the C8 reveal.
Back when the story came out about the 6 month delay, some people guessed correctly that it was because they were changing to an upgraded electronic architecture.

"Now, however, we know that this key fob mixup was actually a result of GM’s decision to move the 2020 Corvette to its new Global B electronic architecture.
For those who may be unaware, GM officially announced its Global B digital electronic architecture back in May. The new digital “nervous system” provides greater connectivity and data processing power than GM’s outgoing electronic system."
Electronics. But should we rule out a Cadillac version? It happened before.

I didn't put much effort into the OP because I thought this was already revealed info because GM Authority regurgitates a lot of stuff. I couldn't remember if this info was revealed or not and didn't want to put effort into a post I thought would be a

I trust GM Authority as far as I can throw it. Here’s what Tadge said in the September Road & Track:
Road&Track: How long have you been officially working on the car?
Tadge: It’s about five years. People are saying, “Oh, this car’s taking so long to come out”. Actually, my argument is that it’s early. We only have six years of production on the C7. Historically, we’ve been able to start advanced work on the next generation right under everyone’s noses. You could do all the stuff under the skin and just camo it as a current car. So we were doing work historically, but because this one you could tell immediately, everybody started a watch on us. We’re not late.

Really, though, does Tadge speak other than corporate propaganda, whatever they want told? Don't know: I'm just asking?

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
GM has "leaked" more on the C8 than any other car in history.
By "leak" I mean drive the interwebs nuts and keeping them in the news.
I wouldn't believe anything they say anymore. Just build the dam thing and sell it already.

So the C8 Corvette will have a 48-volt electrical system? Because this article at AutoBlog says that the Global B architecture will use a 48-volt system.

Of all the emails I get, GM Authority is one that seems to be one of the more reputable.
And as far as what Tadge said to anyone or any publication, I'm sure GM doesn't want anything coming out before it's time. So if you you're anxious to point fingers, Tadge is just doing his job. The man has given you a great C7 and it looks like the C8 will be hitting it out of the park too.
What do you guys say we quit pointing fingers at GM's Executive Chief Engineer and cut him some slack. Tadge is just like you and me....he likes he job and wants to keep it. So I'm sure GM just didn't want him to urp up all the details you and I want to know about. To be honest, most car brands do the same thing....they don't release any information on new or upcoming products.
