There will not be a C8 Spyder

This is because the word "Spyder" spelled with a "p" is owned by Audi an can only be used for a car owned by Audi, such as any of the Lambos. Furthermore, I would be shocked if Chevy calls their C8 hardtop convertible a Spider. That is just way too Ferrari. There is nothing wrong with calling it just a Corvette C8 convertible.

It is gonna be called a C8 Spyder or C8 Spider. Sound ways better than C8 convertible! lol well we all know chevy ain’t gonna name it that....
Once you think about it and the history of the corvette it will be named:
C8 Convertible
They could also use:
C8 Roadster
C8 Spider
C8 Spyder
C8 Aperta

How a word is spelled has little to no effect on a trademark. In any event, Audi does not have the word SPYDER trademarked - they have the words R8 SPYDER trademarked.

R8 Spyder only. "NO CLAIM IS MADE TO THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO USE "SPYDER" AS TO THE GOODS IN INTERNATIONAL CLASS 12 AND MODEL CAR AND KIDS PEDAL CARS IN INTERNATIONAL CLASS 28 APART FROM THE MARK AS SHOWN"
