It'll be a great trip. OTOH, I'll have a new car with 2,000 miles already on it when I get home. Plus, who knows what kind of rock damage I'll get from the drive.
There is no 500 mile oil change requirement on the C8.

Think of places with great backgrounds for C8 pictures. Like St. Augustine Florida, South Beach and Ocean Drive and Key West, Most Southern Point in the US. Just a thought ....

Key West is NOT the most southern point in the US. Continental US, yes. Ka Lae - the southernmost tip of the Big Island is the southernmost point in the US.

A trip through the Missouri Ozarks on our way back to Nebraska. We always drive through the Missouri Ozarks on our yearly trip to the Bash. This time will be special in our new C8 and Museum Delivery. 3/9 TPW?

Still thinking of something fun between Bowing Green and Virginia Beach.
I may change my mind and get Museum delivery, then drive back to FL.

We live in Tidewater Virginia. The plan is not to have museum delivery, but to take a trip to the museum on another weekend to tour the facility. Plan is to hit Deal's Gap and also just enjoy seeing various small town attractions.

Hawaii is not part of the Comtinental US.

Taking museum delivery driving it back to AZ. First stop Birmingham, Ala. to visit Barber car museum, private museum, supposed to be spectacular. From there to Natchez, miss to visit some old antebellum homes, from there to Houston's space center. After that I'm pointing the car west and trying to avoid the highways. Planned it out to about 1700 miles. I have been to 48 of the states on my motorcycle, from Arizona (no trailers) and have missed this museum and the space center. Not this time.
If anyone else is doing it you're not too far from the Jack Daniels factory, great tour and its free.
I highly recommend the invisible bra for anyone traveling the highway's home could save some heart break.

Yes, we agree completely. That is exactly what I said. The post I replied to implied that the spot in Key West was the southern most spot in the US (it did not specify continental US). What part of my post wasn't clear?

I will also be taking museum delivery and have an overnight trip home. As I mentioned on another thread, I have serious concerns for the safety of the car while parked at any overnight accommodation. Nobody else has had any troubles on road trips in the past? And no, I don't stay at "cheap" places.

Don't stay at a shitty place... we're staying at Marriotts and the Greenbrier in WV.

I would like to pick up and drive back to Chicago. This is my second Vette (c6), the first new one. If I do, I'm flying down solo and breaking it in that way. I want to hear every engine note on the way back.

I was just there for the NCM 27th anniversary as well! It was my 8th time down but first time driving my own corvette and dad in his. It was a great father son trip and always fun to meet new people. I ended up doing track time in my C5 and my dad paid to take the C8 out. WOW was that impressive, it just doesn't feel like a corvette to me.

I bet you can’t wait to get your license plates so you can take pictures and block them out

To be fair, it only collapsed part of the Skydome. My 2014 C7 NCM delivery was the day after the sinkhole. The Skydome was still not closed off (you could see into it) and the place was crawling with reporters and TV cameras. I had a short interview that was aired on a Nashville TV station.
