Power mirrors are manually controllable!

Corvette has come a long way and the mentality relating to content has shifted.
I remember Dave Hill addressing the question as to why options like folding mirrors and steering wheel audio controls were not offered on the C5. He responded that content added weight and the C5 team's primary mandate was to reduce it. He also said audio controls did not belong on the steering wheel of a sports car as they were an unnecessary distraction.
The folding mirrors on my Audi Q5 are a godsend in tight quarters - wish I had 'em on my C5 and C7.

It's nearly impossible to accidentally fold it in on my Q5. The rotary **** is to select the right/left or fold them in and it's spring loaded and has a detent so you have to purposefully turn past the detent and rotate 180 deg. to engage the motors.

The folding mirrors on my Jaguar F-Pace are activated by simultaneously pressing the left and right mirror controls. Fold automatically when the vehicle is locked.

Hmm makes me wonder if I can do that in my Discovery... One sec while I go out to the garage and randomly start pressing button combinations...

In order to fold on the Silverado, the right/left mirror control button must be in neutral, then the directional buttons control both mirrors.

FYI Toyota had this in 1986 in Japan starting with the soarer . I retrofitted my '94 Supra with the japan market mirrors that power folded. I don't think the Germans did it until a decade later.
As far as I know ALL power folding mirrors are button activated, I know some fold when parked and turned off then back out when started and put in gear, but all still have a way to manually control. Even closing from the key fob you have to hold down the lock button. My 07 Escalade had this, you'll have to forgive me because i'm new to vettes, but this wasn't an option on the C7? This is a great feature going through car washes to protect the mirrors or just while you're parked so jackasses don't smack your mirrors going by.

Have the same on our Escalade (2018). Plus you can also hold the door lock on the fob for an extra second or 2 and the mirrors will fold in as well.

That would be the least of my worries.... I highly suggest "you" never peek into an airplane cockpit. BTW, if somehow someone did manage to fold their mirrors while driving, wouldn't they still be able to keep the car in their lane and hit that same button to unfold them?
