The car may not need an oil change but $100 is a small price for POM. Despite all the innovation, still same basic technology so old school rules can still be applied. Changing oil is a good practice at whatever interval your OCD or non OCD mind tells you.

You can call it a myth until you're blue in the face, but if you have an engine failure, and you've completely ignored the manufacturer's guidance on the oil change interval, you will find yourself paying for the repairs yourself. That guidance may be overkill, but ignore it at your own risk.

Modern synthetic oil does not need to be changed. It's a scam. I've had various vehicles for years without ever changing the oil. All worked or are still operating fine. I don't put a lot of miles on any of them but my 5 yr old RAM Limited is going on 30k with the original factory oil and it still looks fresh.
No way I cant believe these

And you will never know if that worked or you just paid way too much for oil changes and threw away good oil... I too have never had an engine failure and my last 2 trucks did 10X the miles on oil than yours did and never failed.

And I've never had an engine problem of any kind in 35 years of never having an oil change. ****! Our lawn mower just turned 15 and has never had the oil changed. I sharpened the blade 4 years ago and thought about it but came to my senses prior to wasting the money.

No engine failures because of oil/oil filter regimen here either. If an engine fails, it's not the oil that causes that failure.

Synthetic oil actually improves with age and wear. And contrary to popular belief, sludge is actually good for the engine. Your best oil deals are found at the Jiffy Lube removed from ****-rentative Mercedes Benz owners, aged appropriately and with just a hint of sludge. Slip the head Oil Change Guy a $5 and put that in your rig when.you hit 100k. You'll be good for another 150k miles at that point.
