Default Buy a Hellcat RedEye or C8 Z51 ?

I have a C7 Z51 now and have a deposit for the C8 at 3k over MSRP
the 2019 redeye wide body is being discounted a lot now ....I know the cars really can’t be compared but
I have a feeling the redeye is going to hold it value better than the C8 .....
my plan was not to buy the first year of the C8 but got sucked in by all the hype ...

So tired of people talking about the "value" or "depreciation".
These are depreciating liabilities made for enjoyment and to have fun. They are not assets.
Get whatever car you are most excited about and will enjoy the most.

Do you want a Drag/freeway roller or a canyon carver? I’d go C8 but I like corners. Drag/street only I’d go hellcat and wait for the future Z06 down the road.

Hellcats are surprisingly decent around corners for what they are. But, 2 completely different cars. Corvettes are sports cars, Challengers are GT/boulevard cruisers.

Do you wanna go fast in a straight line, or go fast in a corner?

I can't help you figure out what car you want, but can recommend you try one of the forum dealers that will sell you a C8 at MSRP. Saves you $3k right there and makes your decision a little easier (or harder depending upon which way you are leaning)

My friend has a 2019 Red eye and i can tell you that it is very fast. But the interior finishing is absolute garbage.Cheap plastic all around.Unacceptable for a car of this price.C8 all the way,C8 does it all whereas the Red eye is a one trick pony.

I too was in that same boat especially with the $10 per HP rebate. But while the red eye is fast it’s just not exotic looking and very hard to differentiate between standard widebody. The design is also a bit long in the tooth.

That's like saying, "He runs fast . . . for a catcher."

Seriously though, the only bigger car I'd consider would be an M5. My current ride, despite handling great, is still on the big side for me.

Tough call man. Hellcats are really cool cars, look great, and VERY comfortable. Obviously the C8 is going to "handle" better, have better skid pad g #s, blah, blah, blah. That cornering stuff matters much more to some of us but lets face it nobody here is going to be making a living racing any of these cars.

BTW, what kind of discounts are you seeing on Wide bodies and Redeyes?

Why do people need advice on which car to buy? What are your priorities, what do you like the most, how much space do you want, etc? Find out what you want and get it.

Many people? Sorry but it rarely ever works out that way.

The bold above says it all... others have confirmed this too.

So... only you can/should decide what you really want and why.

For me the decision is an easy one because my interest/preference is with a sports car... and especially a mid engine sports car. I wouldn't be buying one as an investment as much as I'd be buying it for the fun/experience of driving it as much as possible!

I know my opinion won’t matter, but I won’t ever understand these threads about if I should buy this car over another car. Buy what you really want, and not ask for the opinion of others...........

Do you want a REALLY outdated car that is shares a platform with a Chrysler 300, hasn't been changed since 2009, and is based on a even older Mercedes E class platform?
