Default No Body Color Sides on 2020 Corvette Transparent Roof Panel

We learned today that the transparent roof panel option will not have body color sides as currently depicted on the 2020 Corvette Configurator. Instead, the transparent roof panel will be similar to the transparent roof panel option on the seventh generation Corvette.

You guys think this looks proper?

No.... it looks horrible, and completely breaks up the flow of the painted a-pillars through the roof to the rear of the car.

Time to look for a wrapper or painter.

That’s too bad. It looks better in the configurator.

Very stupid of them to change it looked way better on the configurator I'm sure they didn't think supplier could keep up with the demand so making it look like the C7 Style

It was actually just a mistake in the configurator. The transparent was supposed to continue on as it is in the 7th gen and the carbon fiber will continue on with body color sides.

Keeping the costs down no doubt
  • one top all cars,no painting,no extra mouldings just grab one off the shelf. Easy to stock for parts too No complaints about color matches

Well, definitely scratch the transparent top off the list for me.

That made that decision easy.

It would have looked much better with the sides of the transparent top painted, and the part across the top of the windshield blacked out.

No big deal. Given what folks spend for the most trivial of options, the couple hundred bucks it will take to get the sides painted is peanuts. Check the C7 section for examples...

Without the sides painted, having the fully transparent roof makes the C8 look like a convertible from a distance.

I guess the sloppiness in the roll out of the configurator and its quality control is one of those bugs they need to work out. IF true, IF, then why continue to have it in the configurator?

I'll most likely be getting a black car anyway so no harm, no foul.
