Will I feel comfortable in a C8?
I have chronic back and neck issues which have gotten worse over the years. Height is not the issue as I’m 5’11”. I want to feel comfortable that I can get in/out without too many gymnastics moves before I order. I have been able to get in a Porsche 991, with effort. I was thinking of renting a C7 for a day to see how I manage. Any thoughts? I’m 65 and hate the thought of giving up sports cars for something easier to get into.

As for the C7, I have a little issue with how low it sits and the fact that I have a tight garage. Other wise, not too bad. As for comfort, I find my Z06 very comfortable and I have some of the physical issues you have. The C7 has better comfort than some of my other cars. Can’t really say much in regard to the C8. However, to me it looks like it could be tight for some people. Good luck with your quest!

I agree. The C7 seats are almost identical to the C8 with some cosmic changes. If you can sit in a C7 comfortably then you’ll likely be comfortable in a C8. If you can rent a C7 that would be even better.

You need to rent a C7 and go for some extended drives.
These are still sports cars and not really the easiest cars to get in and out of,

I sat in it and the seats are really comfortable.
HOWEVER -- it is low and if you have a bad back getting in and out might be a problem.
This ain't no Caddy.
The other thing is get the Magnaride with the Z51. This will get you the chance to dial up the softest ride which will help.
Its not the seats I think that are the problem. It's what kind of car it is.

Nobody knows but you. However, technique is everything. Turn sideways. Sit down in the seat. Rotate your body to the right, sliding your right knee UNDER the steering wheel as you rotate. To get out, reverse the procedure. I know what you mean about back issues. Works for me. If you try to go in feet first you're asking for problems. It's not a pickup truck.

1. Definitely rent a C7 because the fit is almost the same.
2. Start doing yoga regularly. I am only 52, generally very fit, but was having bad back issues for a few years. Yoga almost entirely cured me.
3. Whenever I occasionally still get a bad neck or back lockup, getting in and out is VERY difficult because I can’t bend my neck far enough to get my head under the roof. I’m 6’3”.

Depends on the nature of your issue.
My doctor was not fond of my C6 or my C2 for my back, but my only problem was getting in and out of the C6, and only when my back flared up. Normally it was fine. But the C6 has that wide door sill to get across that some struggle with, which the C8 supposedly does not. The actual seating position for both the C2 and C6 is great for my back.
Too many variables to guess from here, but if it got down to it, you might have your qualified and knowledgable physical therapist observe you getting in and out of one, as well as the sitting position in it. Seriously. A good P/T knows what causes your back to strain. It would be distressing to buy one only to discover that you cannot get in and out of it without aggravating a lifestyle-limiting injury.
Good luck with it.

FWIW, I'm 74 years old, my neck and back have both been 'fused', knees replaced etc. I have a C-5 and a C-7. I will say, the C-5 is easier to enter and exit, however, with the door completely opened, I don't have too much of a problem with either. I'm waiting t see howe easy to is to enter and exit a C-8 before I decide if I'll pursue one or not.

in one. Even that however won’t help with the feeling
of being in it for a 2-3 hour road tour...
In meantime a C7 rental for a day and solid trip may answer some questions for you....
Good luck!

Current drives are 2017 Audi Q7 and 2015 A6,. I am starting a new PT session tomorrow so will mention this. There are no C8 tours yet scheduled in Colorado Springs or Denver. I think renting a C7 and spending most of the time working on getting in and out.

You want to develop a procedure for getting in and out of these cars. Once you have it down, it's no issue. I put my hand on the door sill, and I'm in and out in nothing flat. Don't push up against the seat, since that an tear the seat covering, and it is just plain harder to get in and out.

Go to a dealer and get in and out of a C7 Grandsport or Z06 - widebody is important as the lower ground effects on the side will make you really work to get in and out. Get fully in close the door and then get fully out to a standing position 5 times. Then you will know.
