MOTOR TREND C8 September 2019

C8 turn circle is 36' feet curb to curb, down from the C7’s 37.7' ... impressive given C8’s wheelbase is a ½" longer.
Base FE1 suspension tuning is more aggressive than a base C7. It’s close to the FE4 Tour setting.

Yep first car magazine I purchased in decades, had to have it to go with the torch red C-8 ordered from Classic in Grapevine TX, Bad news I am way down the list :"like 191".The good news Classic is a top dealer in the nation and nr, one in Texas and they sell at sticker.

I really wanted not to steal this magazine...
I just tried really hard to buy this magazine. I went to a Rite Aid, CVS, 7Evelen, and 3 local newsstands; and was surprised to find bone of them Cary magazines at all. The "newsstands" are all basically vape shops, and the big chains only carried People and the Enquirer.
I've got to get a dirty look from the employees when I ask, "hey do you still sell magazines"?
Bruh, I'm 33. I ain't your Grandpa. Don't give me dirty looks because I asked where to find the physical media in your store.
Yes, I know even tOOl started streaming yesterday. I should have known better than to get in the car and drive to 6 stores to look for a picture of a car that I'll be driving next spring. Next time I'll just bootleg the **** from the get go, and save the gas for when I really need it!

Bummer that the transmission was tuned to activate creep mode when lifting your foot off the brake. I loved that part of the DCT in my M4, could take my foot off the brake at a red light and relax.

They designed the driving mode selector to be within easy reach and "brailled" so you dont even have to look to figure out whether you are in Neutral, Drive, Park, etc. So just flip it to neutral at stop lights if you want to take your foot off the brake, simple as that. But just be aware of your car rolling forwards or backwards.

Just read this in the article:
"Most of what I’m hearing is organic, but the active noise-cancellation
system does a bit of frequency augmentation—primarily of exhaust sound, because
the pipes are muffled by a luggage area and the engine."
I had to live with the god-awful fake noise pumped into my M2 cabin under the Marketing term 'Active Sound Design (ASD) until i was able to either code it out, or, in my case, install an aftermarket harness to bypass it.. Really terrible. So Im ultra sensitive to any fiddling with the sound of the engine or exhaust for the supposed 'benefit' of the inhabitants' ears.
You guys who are familiar with Vettes, have they heretofore been known to pipe fake exhaust and engine sounds into the cabin? Any chance this article quote pertains to anything resembling that?

My C7 supposedly has active noise cancellation (part of the audio system) but all I notice is the volume increasing with speed and ambient sound. It definitely doesn't produce fake engine sound. I don't think the C8 will either. At worst you'd have to turn off the audio system if it did.

I don't care how much vibration comes through to the cabin from the 8 to 4 cylinder mode or vice versa. The loosening of the clutch to reduce the jerkiness between modes is unacceptable in my book. "Let's use a band-aid for passenger comfort".
No thanks. Disable the 8/4/8 switching, period. I'd rather save a $2k clutch job and spend that in gas.

I think this will sell the magazine. I know it reminded me about my recent offer in the mail and I just filled it out.
