Selling my beloved NSX .....
#41
Ditto. No way I'd sell that NSX unless you just don't have anywhere to keep it indoors, and drive it at least twice a month. I'd buy it if I didn't already have too many toys.

Yeah, wish I could keep it, but I need to sale it in order to get a new toy. I’m lucky enough to have had three of them over the years and always sold for more than I bought them for, especially the one I’m selling... you wouldn’t believe how much I made out on that one.
like I said earlier, I think the C8 is going to negatively effect a lot of markets new and used, so I’m not too concerned about the appreciation as I’ve already enjoyed plenty of it... the market is already starting to soften and probably going to level off or come down soon imo
Perfect world id keep her forever, but it’s not a perfect world and we got to do what we gotta do sometimes

I agree... I had two of them.. If I had to choose it would be gone in a heartbeat for C8... I said this before the C8 is going to bring down a lot of higher end used sports car prices...

My wife sold her 94' and actually got more than what she paid for it. They are cool cars but at 220bhp they left a lot to be desired, Honda came out with the Honda S2000 and I would see a lot more of those on the track. A 350bhp NSX would have been interesting, but they still are cool looking and hold up.

I'm a Corvette nut, but I wouldn't sell that NSX for one.

I looked up the specs on the 92 nix and 270 hp, 210 torque with a weight of 3010 lbs. Not overly impressive, but ok for that era.

[QUOTE=SoCal-C8;1599898393]I don't remember that?? I do remember it winning car of the year though and a bunch of other awards that made it the icon it is today... as far as driving experience, there is nothing like driving the early model coupes with the manual steering...it's like a go-kart with how low you sit and how great the visibility it has...you should drive one on a track or some twistie back roads someday.
You may not remember it or weren't following cars closely back then, but the auto press did refer to appropriately as NoSex. Here's one link with reference to the auto world reaction in general.

I have driven the NSX at big Willow and also on the roads back off a Mulholland -- certainly a "nice" car, scintillating? no. Pleasant and easily managed, yes.
Happy you are bailing on it and getting an '8, in analogy, you are going from dating the kinda plain girl in HS who has an A+ in Home Economics (she's pleasant, she's nice, but....) to dating the head cheerleader who knows what boys like...
Glad you are joining us on the '8 adventure -- gonna be awesome and you won't miss the NoSex for a moment once you've experienced the howling V8 behind your ears.

The old RSX's are going to take a direct hit in value from the C8. Sell it now. I could have bought a decent RSX in 2012 for low 20's and always kicked myself for not doing so. The C8 serves the same market now as those old NSX's without the compromises in styling and power and new technology so if you bought low then sell high and sell now... The C8 just turned the world upside down and the old NSX's will be barely hanging on...

The OP is his own Case Study on why he should sell now... How may other old NSX owners out there right now feeling exactly what he is feeling...

thanks!
yeah, Pearl white.....the original color is Berlina Black. I left the canopy black and wrapped the body.
always wanted the NSX-R look
buyer is driving out from Texas at the end of the week, and I'm kinda feeling sick about it

NSX value headed up, C8 value headed down. I'd keep the NSX for damn sure. Not just on the basis of money either, just on the basis of purity. Put a new gearbox in that car, maybe a few grand beyond that, and you've got a hell of a car that has stood the test of time, and is an icon. The C8 is yet to be determined.

I think the market is about about to change on a lot of cars and open somethings up that were overpriced before thanks to the arrival of the C8....I will probably just invest the money and sit it out for like a year then get back into another mid engine two seat sports car.
I know now I'll miss her, but I think it's the right time to cash out....at least I still have a nice little 4-series to throw around in the meantime
