Both were on Cup 2 R's, so they are street tires...definitely not Michelin Blues or Pirelli DH's
Last I heard they weren't available, and they are defined by TireRack as NOT being "Normal!"

Trofeo R's or Cup 2 R's for sure -- that's what Lambo and the RS Porsches used to beak 7 minutes
Trofeo's -- $2500 for a set of 4......Cup 2 R's -- $3600 for four tires.....

The rendering of the tire matches the design of a Trofeo R

Yeah, I don't think anyone is implying the base or Z51 is going to do that...it's not happening. The Z51, with the big aero, is a 7:15-7:20 car.

Both only by a few seconds. The 918 was otherwise modified the crap out of I read!

it's too bad that you can't upgrade stock tires to Cup 2's in the configurator (for an upcharge) on the Z51 rather than the all season Pilot Sport 4S tires .....better off just getting second set of Forgelines for track (that look better also) with stickier tires....at least they stuck with 5-lug wheels

All these numbers are benchmarks. Theyre used to compare one vehicle to another, thats the whole reason they exist. If we wanna look realistically at this, no, I bet few overall Corvette buyers know or care about any of them. To those that do care, the Ring is yet another fairly common, relevant benchmark that is used in this regard. And those people are the type of people I like to think are buying the car, even if I know its far more likely they know all the brands of car polish and think original tires are a selling point fifteen years down the road
So "Ring" times are equally as import and as often discussed by Corvette owners as 0-60 and 1/4 mile stats? You need to put down the crack pipe if you think that is true. There are many Corvette enthusiasts that have never heard of the Ring and could care less about lap times at any track.

Default Screw it! ;)

The Rings this BITCH, all by itself! Stick to nice racetracks so you can slide around a little bit. IE The 720s at Willow, Laguna, and VIR, up there on what tires?! Add the more mainstream tires!?

Michelin cup2 tires are incredible better than anything for street and track dot approved.
‘For liability reasons ford and gm try not to install them as hydroplaning and cold weather make driving like on ice . The general public would have a lot of accidents and plaintiff attorneys would smoke gm unless a waiver was signed

porsche lives by ring times. Mclaren Ferrari ignore it. They shouldn’t and gm should go for it. Wait till a 800hp twin turbo better shows up on Fred flint stone Michelin cup r2s
