Lars Kern did it in a RWD GT2RS in 6:47 initially, then a Manthey Racing modified GT2RS at 6:40
Kevin Estre also did it in a RWD GT3RS in 6:55
Both were on Cup 2 R's, so they are street tires...definitely not Michelin Blues or Pirelli DH's

The rendering of the tire matches the design of a Trofeo R

Yeah, I don't think anyone is implying the base or Z51 is going to do that...it's not happening. The Z51, with the big aero, is a 7:15-7:20 car.

Melting Slicks
it's too bad that you can't upgrade stock tires to Cup 2's in the configurator (for an upcharge) on the Z51 rather than the all season Pilot Sport 4S tires .....better off just getting second set of Forgelines for track (that look better also) with stickier tires....at least they stuck with 5-lug wheels

Please, tell me the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of your Corvette right now. No looking it up, straight from memory. Cause I'm guessing theyre equally unimportant to most people.
All these numbers are benchmarks. Theyre used to compare one vehicle to another, thats the whole reason they exist. If we wanna look realistically at this, no, I bet few overall Corvette buyers know or care about any of them. To those that do care, the Ring is yet another fairly common, relevant benchmark that is used in this regard. And those people are the type of people I like to think are buying the car, even if I know its far more likely they know all the brands of car polish and think original tires are a selling point fifteen years down the road

Screw it! ;)
The Rings this BITCH, all by itself! Stick to nice racetracks so you can slide around a little bit. IE The 720s at Willow, Laguna, and VIR, up there on what tires?! Add the more mainstream tires!?

Michelin cup2 tires are incredible better than anything for street and track dot approved.
‘For liability reasons ford and gm try not to install them as hydroplaning and cold weather make driving like on ice . The general public would have a lot of accidents and plaintiff attorneys would smoke gm unless a waiver was signed
porsche lives by ring times. Mclaren Ferrari ignore it. They shouldn’t and gm should go for it. Wait till a 800hp twin turbo better shows up on Fred flint stone Michelin cup r2s
