Doesn't look like Porsche is too concerned...

There are those Corvette owners that can have either or both.......but they aren’t the ones constantly belittling owners of more expensive cars. Those individuals are the ones who can not afford a Porsche.....so therefor they ridicule the car and anyone who owns one. In a word it’s car envy.....why else would they comment or care?
*Disclaimer for the fanboys* But I myself will be buying the C8 Z06 or R whatever it's called once it's announced"

My 13th Corvette and 5th Porsche (picture is my 4th Porsche and daily driver) 7 of my Corvette friends own and drive Porsche's too, if it wasn't for one of my long time Corvette friends I probably would never have purchased a Porsche, but he let me drive one of his turbo s's years ago and I was hooked. I know it maybe hard for some to believe, but some of us like many different cars. And as soon as the C8 adds power with the Z06 or ZR1, I'll have one too.
amazing cars. what line of work ya in? I want to do this, but do not think I can ever afford

Porsche is strictly a performance car. It’s a brand lkke sneakers or handbags. The cars are nose to @ss ugly and always will be. People buy a Porsche to say they have one. Vette owners have a pride, a connection, a love for these beasts that others don’t. Few people can even name which Porsche they are even looking at: 911, 919, 411, Carreras, Boxster, whatever. Tired of the comparison to Porsche; each car is any ugly girl with either implants, too much makeup, or a huge rear end. Give me power, style, and a car that is synonymous with my country, my grit, my resolve and my loyalty.

Woot woot another 911 thread! I don't think Porsche really cares about the production numbers of 911's anymore. Their bread & butter is in SUV's! If it wasn't for SUV's, Porsche would be out of business a while ago!
#85
Lol.. I mean GM was saved thanks to a government hand me down.
#86
^^^ Correct but that had a lot to do with other factors than just cars. Doesn't change the fact about SUV's saving Porsche.

I guess Porsche IS concerned
Base 911
I suppose that there's an *** for every seat...but pricing the base model 30-40 thousand higher than the C8 seems almost...foolhardy.

base price 911 was 113k USD...
Now they strip it down and lower the price.... So i guess they are a little concerned.
40k more as a base car is still a lot of money, but hey less than 60k :-)
each to his own..... personally i wouldn't buy a porsche with close to same performance and price tag.. simply because it doesn't appeal to me...
To anonymous, to steril , V6, no luggage space.... ie boring...... better quality maybe, probably still a better build car.... But all in all... not enough to swing me over.....
So how many potensial Porsche owner will buy a Corvette.... earlier almost none.... Now i think we will see a few more :-)

They are not Steven. You speak of a passion and brand loyalty. You just don’t know how loyal Porsche owners are to their cars. Remember that the 911 has also been around for decades as the Corvette has. Why not just enjoy your hobby and let others enjoy theirs? If they enjoy more than one car, how is it impacting you?

Like the Slate roof and the Wood overhead doors.
My doors are nearly the same except no glass.
That's actually a 5 car garage, the 2 on the left are tandem. 40' Long stalls.
I can put 2 lifts in the front and make it a 7 car.

You hit the nail right on the head. I've fortunately have been blessed to have owned both platforms and they are such different cars both great but different. The best way i could put it nicely is owning a Porsche (911 specifically) is like owning a nice time piece (Rolex) it's timeless and it's the rarity of these vehicles vs the mass production bargain deals (Fossil, G-shock, etc) and don't get me wrong I love the Corvette it's the only Chevy product I would purchase lol sorry if this bothers some people but it is what it is..

Spend a day in SW Florida. Porsches are as common here as taxis are in Manhattan.

The other drives have Ferrari, Lambos and Bentleys.
Corvettes are nearly extinct, rarely seen. People would "think" you went BK.
Every teenager drives a New BMW.
The Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo, Bentley dealers are less than 5 minutes from my house.
I see the most exotic cars in the world every time I go to Dunkin donuts. No ****.
The other day I was driving with my son, he yelled out "Dad, that's the New $5 Million dollar whatever (I forget). He said they only made 3 in the world. Whatever.
In my area a Porshe 911 Turbo won't get a 2nd look.
Sometimes when I'm at the traffic light, there might 8 to 10 of the most exotic cars in the world at the 4 corners.

I see Porsche GT3 cars daily when I'm stuck in traffic.
Not so much the RS models.
GT2, not so much, but I saw one last week.
The RS models definitely stand out, very cool.

My count on sports cars seen yesterday(excluding mine).
1 Miata
1 Boxster
1 911
1 Corvette C2
1 Corvette C3
1 Corvette C5
1 Corvette C6
2 Corvette C7's.
Tesla sightings are very rare. I know of 3 locally, and I have only seen two others while on road trips. A Model S in Moab, UT and a Model 3 in Durango, CO.
