Proof of allocation
We all know dealer's tend to fabricate the truth. My question is, how can we be sure a dealer actually has a allocation?
Can you ask to see it, anyone have a copy of one so we can see what's involved.
Thanks.

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
The highest volume Vette dealers have the most allocation but they also have the most orders. So it's rather pointless to ask to be frank.
"Look at my allocation". What you need to know is how many unfilled slots they have open and you aren't going to find that out.
The real question to ask is anticipated delivery date but even they don't really know right now.

I'm sure there are exceptions, my experience locally is they will tell you what you want to hear. Gave a deposit on a GS in '17 when they first came out and was told 'we are the largest corvette dealer in the state', and we absolutely have an allocation for your car. Ten weeks later my order was still not put through and Kerbeck had 34 Grand Sports sitting on the lot...

I have no proof, but my local dealer tells me they have 19 first order cycle and 75 total for MY 2020. They're #40 on the top 50 list and the #1 in Virginia in terms of volume on Corvettes.

I was cruising the website of a local chevy dealer this morning, and after 3 requests to chat with me, i obliged and asked in the chat window how much C8 allocation the dealership has.. I thought her head was going to explode.. She was like, 'I dont see 'C8' on the list. I realize these 'chatters' are glorified operators, but I wasnt quite prepared for that. If the local dealership doesnt have a Corvette specialist on staff, Im beginning to think its MacMulkin or nobody for me here in Ct. When the time comes Ill probably check a few more locals, but dont have much confidence.

Still planning to attend the event this Wednesday to see if they will let you sit in the car, same sales guy I spoke with said they would, but I am not sure that actually means anything.

Dealer forwarded a copy of the allocation estimate from GM...then my order number.
Many dealers got less than anticipated.

"Allocations" are the retailers issues. Do business with one of the big guys who sell large volumes of Corvettes and sponsor this forum. Do you really want to deal with some local greaseball that could care less about selling Corvettes and will hook you and hope he gets an "allocation" that he sell you down the road at some point. There are scores of threads here and elsewhere about guys had a promise and never got a car.

Matt,
I just wonder how many small dealers have MSRP allocations at all. I anticipate the early & late allocations at a small dealership will be at over $10K in ADM minimum. In my mind, if a large forum dealer has 600+ allocations for 2020, being 300-400 is a good spot at MSRP.
I am kind of surprised there are not any threads with early allocation availability other than references to ebay.
Congrats to you on filling your 2020 allocations, I hope 2021 rewards you with the same!!
Jeff

Thanks.
We sold ALL of ours at MSRP..... Generally we are a small dealer, but a (Top 50 Corvette Dealer) ... Honestly the problem now will be finding a MSRP deal in wave one of allocations. I'm sure there are allocations to be found at MSRP (Forum dealers) but its going to take some searching to find that wave one allocation spot at MSRP.
The still think the real gamble is wave 1 spot #3 with smaller dealer or wave 2 spot #500 large forum dealer.
Try calling all the Top 50 dealers and ask what wave you would be in, 1 or 2

I ordered a Mercedes a while ago and the dealer showed me the allocation with expected delivery date. Printed it out and gave it to me.
