Body color looks sick on the sides. I'd probably go that route personally.

Its weird cause I really hated body color on the C7Z.

It’s true that the C4 C5 and C6 used a lot of black plastic pieces that tended to look a bit cheap. But if you inspect a C7 more closely you’ll see that GM went to the extra expense of adding a gloss black metallic painted finish. No more exposed black plastic. This continues for the C8.

I hope if it is easily rock chipped like the rear brake ducts on a C6Z it can be changed out

Seriously, don't you people get tired of constant negativity?????
some people expect this car to be made out of gold and glittered with diamonds at the price tag of $60K

I think the C8 expects customers to add forced Induction..... so when a customer walks into the showroom, the car says....

"BLOW ME!!!"!

Same here. Unfortunately, the rear end still looks wrong to me with the body colored inserts, so it would be a matter of either ordering carbon flash, and having the sides done in body color, or ordering body color, and replacing the rears with carbon flash. It would be nice if you could a la carte the options as there's other things I'd like but will be stuck buying a complete package to get a couple things.

Yeah, same problem on C7Z. I use black electrical tape, almost invisible, just replace as it gets damaged

Yeah. I am guessing its probably easier to order body color and then get the carbon flash rears from the parts department. I was thinking the same thing!

You said it ! It's none stop on here . Every 5 minutes you get someone trying so hard to find something negative about the car and some will tell you they were running to the chevy dealership to put a deposit on one but because the spoiler is off by .2mm to the right or the button is 1/4 inch off to the side then I'm
not buying it anymore.

Hello, various plastic compounds are the latest and greatest for durability and weight savings. What do you think "carbon fiber" is? It's a type of reinforced plastic.

Yes, I MUCH prefer the body colored side vents.

...but like a few others on here, I prefer the black vents in back. Sure would be nice if it was possible to only get the side vents body colored and leave the backs in black. Wonder how hard it'll be to change out the rears vents?

It's clear OP has never actually gone exotic car shopping before... You know those brand new $200K+ McLaren 570s' and Ferrari 488's? They come with plastic aero too. You have to pay extra on top of their crazy high base prices in order to get them made in a nice carbon fiber. Otherwise they are just plastic on a lot of the supercars. I would've liked the C8 to come with an option for a carbon fiber scoop, but its not surprising in the slightest that it doesn't come that way on the base car. Maybe it will be an option on the Z06/ZR1.

If not, the aftermarket will correct that.

Exactly! And it you don't like it, you can pay to have it all in carbon fiber from the factory.

I am confused. So do the rear engine vents come from the factory with Carbon Flash or is that an up charge?

Yes, Carbon Flash is standard. From the order guide:

EFR Exterior accents, Carbon Flash, side vents and front/rear grille accents S S S

Here's the page in the order guide"

carbon flash is not carbon fiber right? Isn't it just plastic coated to look like carbon fiber?

So.....what if we just took them off and modified the door switch to fit what is left? Less protrusion i'm thinking.
