Default Not a problem

There will be no harm being left out in the rain. Maybe some water spots in the engine bay.

GM engineers have us covered. Everything has waterproof seals. All the mid/rear engine exotics have a similar open engine bay.

Rain? Who would ever drive a Corvette in the rain?!?! Mine sits in her garage with 5 other siblings while the mules sit out in the rain.

I would. My daily driver. I don't save them for the next guy. My C8 got rained on before I made it home from the Museum. I enjoy driving them.

I can't find it, but there was a ___ on the FB group that was diving in the rain ( Guy and his GF - can't remember if she was taking video ) and it was coming down hard into the engine compartment.

Kinda ruins the idea of engine dress up packages when the compartment will be covered with dried mud from the water and dust.

Nah, if it got wet once it can get wet again, hose it off with clean water and dry it with a towel, good as new.

Hmm, have had to drive my car ~60 miles 2 days when it was raining. Both for dealer service appointments to have 1) the driver's mirror replaced as it was defective and 2) get alignment checked/set after I had >500 miles.

One was a steady rain and car was a mess, lots of dirt on the rear and bottom sides. Washed it. The other a light rain, washed it again. The engine compartment was dirty! Not the engine cover but as you'd expect where the rain came through the vents!

Cleaned the window behind the passenger compartment yesterday. The back was easy using my window cleaning wand (inside a bit of a pain.) However water sports and dirt on the engine supports and flat plastic areas. Meguire's Water Spot Remover worked good enough for me. Someone OCD probably would not be super happy!

Yep, dirt will be there but no harm to the car. Cleanup shouldn’t be too bad.

I've tried but FB does not appear to have search available. The video of the guy driving with his GF taking the video of rain coming in was a hoot, but it was a wile back 2-3 months (?) and it was taking forever just to look a week back manually.

Yet, usually the engine keeps running and most electrical things keep functioning.
It is possible that the C8 engineers have found out that it rains sometimes and have taken that into consideration.
The vents on the C8 engine compartment aren't an issue, I agree, but the tires on my C7 are covered by fender liners, and not throwing water up onto the engine. Maybe yours is missing some parts?

Yes, water gets in the vents. Just like pretty much every other mid-engine car.

Be careful in big storms, sometimes a lightning bolt hits that flux capacitor and sends you back to 1957...

I had the engine compartment plastic Ceramic coated when I did the car. No more spots when I clean it or drive in the rain & it shines up pretty good.

What was wrong with the drivers side mirror?
Strange thing happened- see pic. The gel in the mirror that controls diming, went bad! Service Manager and Corvette Tech said they had seen that in older cars BUT never new and never on the whole face. Bad batch I assume. GM had the mirror in stock. 15 minutes to change! All fine now.

Thanks! I had seen that issue once before on this site. They had both sides go stupid I recall.
