It's already too wide in the rear - pray that the higher performance models will be narrower (they won't be, of course)

IMO the wide body was for fitting larger tires; yet to be determined how wide a rim/tire will fit in the C8 design. The Z51 optioned C8 that I saw had 305/25/20 on the rear.

If you look at the real world pics of the C8 the tires are sunken in a big... has room easily for a 295/325 combo on the current body. I'm betting the higher performance cars have bigger wheels/tires and revised fascias, but not necessarily wider fenders/quarters. I.e. C5 Z06 style. Even then the C5Z just had larger wheels/tires and the hardtop, no revised fascias.

Porsche has already made the base 911 a widebody car, so wouldn't be surprised if the Corvette Grand Sport, Z06 etc. weren't any wider than the base Corvette.

Err, no::
The wide rear body helps to flow air in through the side scoops and keep the engine bay at reasonable temperatures.

I hope the C8 Z06 is a WIDE BODY!

When I first saw then-new C7 at Road America, I thought - it's okay.

But when I first saw the C7 Z06, I thought then, and still think now, it's one of the most beautiful cars all time!

Bring on the WIDE BODY C8!
