Default Will Xpel have a C8 pattern?

Do you think Xpel will have a pattern ready to go when the C8 is first received by buyers at the end of the year?

A good pro doesn’t need the pattern. They can custom wrap it.

True, but with all those angles, this doesnt look like a simple installation and Id rather have them work with a tried and true pattern.. I thought my M2 was going to be a tough wrap, but compared to the shape of the Vette, it was probably easy pickings.

Of course. As soon as they can get access to a car, they'll have a pattern. Until then, yes a good installer can custom wrap it. The good ones take liberties with the patterns anyway because the patterns usually don't allow wrapping of edges.

yes xpel will have them as soon as they hit the lots

i have had it on my c7 z06 and it is so great at protecting the whole car since i drive my car alot the front end still looked new after 21,000 road trip miles.

i also have full body xpel ultimate plus on my 570s with the ceramic coating it is a breeze to get the bugs off.

I actually contacted Xpel a few days ago about this. This was their response, "Thanks for the inquiry! As the Corvette is one of our most popular installs, we anticipate having patterns for the C8 very soon. In some cases we are able to get access to vehicles prior to release, so this may work out in that manner as well."

.XPEL user here. It’s on my wife’s 2017 Audi Q7 and my 2013 Audi’ S8. Both rides are covered back to the front doors and to 4” above the wind shields. Wife’s Q7 is grey and looks terrific. My S8 is white. After 6 months or so, the Xpel fades in the sun and the demarcation line at the door of the white S8 is evident.

Also, we have Love Bugs here in Florida in May & October. The acid in the bodies of the little bastards eats into both Xpel and paint. Leaves black Marks in the Xpel but does not reach the paint.

Not certain “To Xpel or not to Xpel? That is the question!

Mike S,

Thank you for choosing XPEL for your Q7 and S8! You're right in that on white cars, PPF (any brand) is much more visible and that dirt can collect on the seams and be a bit of an eye sore at times. You're also right in that love bugs are a nuisance and are made up of some pretty nasty stuff. To help combat the dirty seams and the love bugs, we recommend having XPEL FUSION PLUS Ceramic Coating applied on top of your film or even just using our XPEL Ceramic Boost Spray will help. To show our gratitude for your support, we would be more than happy to send you a bottle of Ceramic Boost for FREE. If you're interested, email us at marketing@xpel.com with your t-shirt size, name, and shipping information. **We would like to extend this offer to anyone on this thread that has shared about XPEL on their car. Email us the same information along with the post# where you mentioned XPEL.**

Going back to your film where you mentioned fading, XPEL ULTIMATE and ULTIMATE PLUS are both warrantied for 10 years against yellowing, staining, fading, peeling, lifting, cracking, and more. Parts and labor. You can take it back to your installer or any Certified XPEL Installer to have them inspect and take it from there.

Those kits are no comparison to a custom cut and fit job. A good installer can handle just about anything.

Those kits do not provide complete coverage and can be pretty ugly with in your face seams and edges all over the place. Might as well buy the old style canvas bra...

Professional installer can cut and hide the seams very well but it cost a lot of money. My front hood and fenders up to the pillars cost about $2500.

Don't agree as a former installer, sold the business, the Xpel patterns are a start, but it takes a good installer to finish it and trim it correctly so there is correct coverage. The pattern software I used was a bit over what was needed and gave me more than enough material to make sure full coverage was there and seams were virtually invisible, which quite frankly did take some skill to do.

There were no patterns for my 720s, but if you're going to a pro installer they don't need pre cut patterns.

And yes, of course, Xpel will have a pattern

I had my 2016 Z06 completely covered in Xpel Ultimate as soon as I got the car. I also had CQuartz Pro applied over the Xpel. The car is a breeze to wash and dust hardly settles on it. I plan to add a C8 and will definitely cover it in Xpel also. Xpel has been the best decision I made for the Z06!

The first picture below should sell anyone on the fence about installing Xpel. Our '17 GS Z07 is a daily driver, now with 14K miles since we purchased it new in August of '18. I was on a 4 lane highway in the fast lane when someone just ahead in the lane next to me kicked up something that sounded like a brick being thrown against the passenger side of the car. When I got to work I found the rear quarter was impacted enough to tear a circle into the film but to my surprise the paint beneath was still perfect.

While it has seen alot of miles in a short time frame it cleans up really well, the Xpel gets the credit for that. The Corvette specialist at my dealer's service department was walking around the car and really looking at , finally asked me how I got the paint to look that good? Told him about the Xpel, his response was it is the deepest looking paint on any Corvette that has come through. There was a new ZL1 just out of the shot that was finished with PDI and the new owner of the cars and several others came over to look at the Xpel. I know the ZL1 owner was sold on it. This picture was around the 10K mile mark:

I have been using Meguiar's products that they have stated are safe for PPF, I feel like they work well but maybe the Xpel products are even better. I haven't tried any ceramic based products, but the film seems very resilient regardless of what's being applied. The front bumper has taken a few decent impacts that have mushed or stretched the film but didn't tear through. Those would definitely damage the paint if unprotected. This photo was from a Corvette meet at a local brewery, the car had 13K miles. You can see some love bug impacts from the drive over! A '15 C7 Stingray pulled up next to mine shortly after this shot was taken, it had only 2K miles and still had several impact areas on the front bumper. The owner seemed appalled at my usage level until I showed him the Xpel. I suggested he wrap the front of his and go out and drive and enjoy the car him and his wife had wanted for so long!

Bottom line is if you are purchasing a new C8 you should give the Xpel Ultimate some serious consideration!

Xpel saved my paint! I unfortunately scraped a granite curb. When I got out of the Z06 and looked as you see in the first picture it looks like I badly scraped my paint and was pretty bummed out. When I got home and looked closer I started to peel off the Xpel and to my surprise there was no damage to the paint the Xpel took the hit as you can see in the 2nd picture.

I had Xpel applied to my 2019 ZR1. This the first time I've had it installed on one of my cars. My installer is top notch and as complex as the front fascia is on a ZR1 you can hardly tell it's there. Great product!

My last 7 cars have had Xpel, and I’ll never have another car without it. The hard-headed bugs around here will take off the paint on an unprotected surface to the metal (OK, composite), and I’ve never had that happen - but it did happen in areas adjacent to the ones that were protected. Also, today I’m trading in my 6-year-old daily driver, and both the Xpel and the paint underneath look brand-new, which helped boost the trade-in value significantly.
