Default Aftermarket modification list

With my C7 Z06, I made a number of aftermarket purchases to get the car to where I wanted it.

For Looks/Protection:
- Tint (easy)
- Paint Protection (easy, some design required)
- Lowered (will this even be possible?)
- Car cover (custom)
- Wheel saver ramps for winter storage (re-use)
- Batter tender (re-use)
- Blendmount radar detector mount (requires design)
- MirrorTap radar detector wiring kit (requires design)

For sound/performance:
- X pipe (not applicable)
- Borla Exhaust (requires design)
- AFE intake (requires design)

How long do you think it will take the aftermarket guys to produce the parts that need to be designed?

Why would you tint the view of the engine? I guess you could tint the vertical glass inside the cabin, but again... why?

The LT2 comes with a great intake and tubular headers now already, no real mods needed.

Plus, with a whole new car and all new electronic platform I'm not modding anything. Going to rack up the miles and let GM fix it.

While I don't have a issue with the C8 exhaust tips, I am curious to see what Corsa/Borla will develop for the new car.

Based on the fact the LT2 has mid-length tubular headers with a merge collector from the factory and the sound clip makes it sound awesome... I'm guessing not a ton of fruit for aftermarket exhaust companies unless you just want something really loud all the time.

What if you want sound for the non Z51 Stingray which doesnt yet offer the Perf Exhaust as an a la carte option?

I've only focused on the Z51, but are we sure the performance exhaust isn't stand-alone? Pretty certain it is.

Didnt see it offered on the order form as it only appears with an 'A1' as part of the Z51 pkg. Ive read that on C7, for instance, it was only offered a couple of years after the release along with Mag Suspension as out-of-pkg options.

Yeah I see that... says NPP as an option, then the foot note says "Included with Z51". Does that mean it's ONLY included with Z51? Or just telling people to not check both?

In the C7 it was always stand-alone. In the early C7 it was separate from the Z51. The change was that at some point NPP/Z51 were combined for the Z51, but it was still available for non-Z51 cars.

Good points. I'll need to get a look/feel for the car first.

Exactly. If you look at pictures of the LT2 it already comes with factory headers! There will be opportunity to delete cats and/or change mufflers to a better exhaust note if you like loud. NPP and cat delete is killer on my C7Z and I expect the same will apply on the C8.

I am seriously considering selling my C7Z and getting a C8 then adding a TVS2300/2650 type blower.

Massive room for a blower too... my only concern would be belt access.

Why would you put SS lines on a brand new vehicle? The OEM hoses on modern Corvettes are very strong and validated to a higher standard than the aftermarket. My C5 race car had ss hoses because the OEM ones aged out. I tracked my C7 for a few years and never bothered with the hoses, just Castrol SRF fluid. New Corvettes come with DOT4 as well.

I always swap out the rubber brake hoses for SS. They're not expensive.

Also, I don't think you can make a blanket statement that SS brake hoses aren't "validated to [the same] standard" as OEM rubber hoses. Some are; some aren't.

It will take some time for the exhaust guys to figure out how to put a full length full diameter set of headers in the engine bay without melting some components.

Meh... once GM started voiding warranties for a tune, bolt-ons became pointless. In the C5 days I could do intake, headers, and a tune and still have my warranty. They didn't really care. Now, if you tune it, you're done. Not worth voiding a warranty for 30-40 horse at most.

Go big or go home... long-tubes in conjunction with a big twin screw under the glass would be rad!

I'm putting on a 6-71 blower with a scoop sticking out of the back hatch and Lambo doors.
