Default Any DIYers worried about being able to do basic maintenance?

With the pictures finally coming out on the C8 one thing to notice is how tight the engine fits inside the compartment.
If this truly is going to be a working mans supercar will we have to worry about $800 oil changes at the dealer or dropping the engine just to change spark plugs?
Another question that needs to be asked is Chevrolet going to have specially trained mechanics for the C8 or are we going to get the usual 15 quart overfills on the dry sump oil changes?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Normal maintenance, like oil changes, should be easy-there's an article that talks about C8 normal maintenance.

What remains to be seen is whether, like the C7, there will be specifically designed and marked locations where one can put jack stands. I do the oil changes in my C7 because it is very easy to jack up and support.

There was a chassis on a rotisserie at the reveal, but I have only seen partial pics so far. Hopefully someone here has a full shot of the undercarriage.

Less concerned about the basic maintenance than I am about 'repairability'.
GM boasts about their new electronic architecture... sounds to me like any real diagnostic work will require a trip to the dealer, or a computer and subscription to the GM tech site.
Maybe like a new BMW, a car you want to ditch before the warranty runs out.
I'll make do with my C6Z for now, It's borderline on the diagnostics already.

I heard from someone at the reveal that there was supposedly a lot of space to work on the engine from underneath.

I don't think oil changes would be a problem and spark plugs could last 100k miles. But a damper pulley, water pump, or alternator change looks like it would require the engine being pulled.
