I don’t see how the targa top would fit anywhere else.
The fact that it also fits two bags of golf clubs .... who cares?

Cool color combo.
I am fine with the added rear storage but I would delete it if they ever gave that option. I am pretty sure that they could find the space they would need in the frunk area. Or make a power targa that slots in vertically behind the passengers like,in some of the renders

I drive my C7Z to Costco all the time so I am happy with the dual trunks in the C8.

Chop off the back 8 inches, make it a hard top. Problem solved.

Exactly. With the apparent new retractable hard top model the people who demand an open roof can buy that model.
For people who need to fit golf or haul larger items get a truck or SUV.

When I bought my 997 TT it dawned on me that I couldn't carry my clubs anymore, so I stored them at the club I usually played at which was okay but if I played anywhere else it was a pain to take a different car, etc. I for one was very happy to see the C8 has a trunk for my clubs.

I'm glad there is good storage space for a sports car, and I don't play golf.

Yeah, I'm sure the Z06 will be a hard top. Just like the C7 was...

so you fucked up and bought a car with a feature you didn't use.....I did the same thing I have a Z06 with HUD and NAV but you don't hear me whining about it....removable roofs are great for people who don't want a vert

I'm very happy with the space. I use my Vette as a Grand Tourismo and this will increase the space I have in my vert.

I like the extra space because it makes the car longer!

If you guys want a convertible boulevard cruiser, buy the convertible. I want a track car and it irritates me that design concessions were made to golfers and old farts who want to take off the roof when there is a car SPECIFICALLY made for those people.

That's my thought process as well. This is why my current C7 is a loaded base stingray vert. It's technically the wifes toy, so I wanted as street comfy as possible. If I buy a C8 for me, and want a true performance car, I don't care one bit about golf club carrying or taking the top off.

What are these then?

Anyway, the C7 was stiff enough that they didn't need to do a fixed roof version. I'm confident the C8 will be at least as good.

I one-manned removed my Supra top. It wasn't physically hard, it was just a PITA. No unscrewing, it's two latches. The PITA part is putting it in the trunk and being careful not to scratch the paint.

News flash, the Corvette has been designed and focused the same way for 4 generations now, since 1997.
Hmm, 20+ years now. But damn it, you're irritated.
At this point, GM is trolling you. Hell, they might as well have printed it as headlines, "still fits 2 sets of golf clubs"
You might want to check your Corvette history about that removable top.
GM could care less.
There's a specific car made just for you, and it's not a Corvette.

I'm not a removable roof person, and would rather have the stiffness, and lack of squeaking that a hardtop provides. However, I have to say, the C8 looks very easy to take the top off and store the top in the trunk, with no more bending over to store it flat in the back. I wasn't big on the big butt, but I have to say, the big trunk looks handy. I won't have to drive my SUV as much.
