Door protrusions
Anybody have any concerns about the protrusions (i.e. blade on side scoops) on the doors? Seems like there could be issues with chips and scratches on them or even break pieces off if you accidentally opened them into objects close by. For those at the reveal, how far did they stick out and do you feel they’d be a problem? Appreciate your thought. Thanks!

How about you just don't open them into objects, you know kind of like you do with all of your cars' doors?

You can chip or scratch any door by opening it into stuff. Just pay attention to what you’re doing.

I do not think the door part of scoop extends beyond the bottom of the door. You'll hit that first.

How many times have you banged your door into anything?? If you are so worried about banging the door get a Jeep -- no door-- no problem.

I’m as careful and OCD as anyone about opening my car doors. Just thought I’d ask the question because it seems like that area of the door might be prone to accidental damage. Didn’t expect this much sarcasm for just asking that.

since I park like this, it won’t be a problem.

We've rented vacation houses with two-car garages that are so narrow we have to park our C7 in the middle so we can open the doors wide enough to get out.
From the inside edge of the arm rest to the outside of the widest part of the door is about 10" on the C7. If the C8 is less, that will actually be an improvement. If the C8 is more, that will be a problem for some people.

You mean the nut slicers?

I don’t think hitting them is a problem......but I really think it looks kinda generic with one pc attached to the door. Kinda like a cake decoration. They could’ve somehow just shortened it up a bit or just moved it back like some of the other mid engine cars. I really dislike it.kinda corney looking.

I can imagine future posts.....wife caught purse on handle, bracelet snagged tip of door handle, jacket caught handle and I heard a crack, is this fixable......

I agree. This is going to be an issue even in a normal garage. I have to be careful to not ding my wife's Merc with the Z06 when exiting the car. That is one thick *** door. Imagine how far it will stick out once you squeeze through the "red arrow" area.

Yes, I saw that on the video.
It's already a tight squeeze to get out of my garage already....
