I think the rear end is the hardest part on the car to design. I've seen some Ferraris which I would not call the rear end beautiful. Some compromises were made with the C8 for luggage handling. The C8 needs to appeal to a broad audience, and that includes daily drivers, and people who take the car on trips. When Harlan said he has driven Corvettes to 49 states, including the Alaskan highway, that sounds like a lot of fun. I like how the designers moved the side scoop back on the car to make the car look shorter, especially with the black accent.

Overall, I think it is a pretty car.

To me, the front end looks quite nice and balanced with a great "cab forward" look that is inherent to ME (and quite different from past Corvettes). That's where it ends - it looks to me like a giant lobster claw engulfed the rear of the car. I get the issues with packaging a V8 with headers that actually make the power package even wider. The rear is very disjointed from the front and that "buttress" behind the side windows is just huge -- it's almost as if 2 different designers worked on the front and rear and then grafted the car together. Maybe it's better in person. Straight on front or rear looks OK but the side profile rear section borders on hideous compared to the rest of the car.

Can't wait to see the chrome aftermarket tailight inserts and chrome luggage rack and flame paintings/9/11 tributes under the hood the boomers might install! That will be a hoot as always. (just kidding boomers!)

The Z car always makes the base look like crap imo

And don’t forget the liberal application of Jake logos.

Folks, this is sub $60k mid engine sport car with a DCT, what exactly is the expectation here? Rolls Royce materials, Huracan performance numbers, and Aston looks- Sheesh people, give GM a thumbs up for their efforts.

I has been saying this from the early camo cars, I thought the rear quarters were heavily padded, I was wrong.

I'd be willing to keep the larger rear end to keep a trunk that can fit two golf bags. In my eyes this makes this supercar practical and livable. They could certainly go Mcclaren mode and make the rear more sleek and small. But I like to take road trips and the retained cargo space is amazing IMO. I was pleasantly surprised to see this.

I like the outside a lot, the inside not so much, Now is time to let the car do the Talking on the track 1/4 and road course.

I don't care about rear storage space. Not sure everything would fit without it, though.

I like less angles and more curves, like the Ford GT and the C6. But they were going for the F-22 look with all those creases and angles. I love it, but it could have been better.

ROFLMAO!!! Yes! Perhaps a big Vinyl Jake Logo on the hood.

I also can't wait for the moron Instagramers to "gram" up their C8 with their Instagram name/Youtube channel/Website all combined with a Neon Camo Wrap.

Sometimes people should think twice......but they won't.

No matter what the opinions are, The bottom line is when you go to a Corvette meet and you have the C8 parked next to a C7 or a C6 not one will even notice them anymore and that's a true fact. I actually think it needed to be longer, but who cares the car is perfect from every angle.

Just a lot of typical forum BS here. It's really too bad GM didn't know about some of these engineers. They could have designed a perfect car.

Default The dreaded two golf bag requirement comes home to roost!

I am so disappointed in the rear of this Car! There is a reason it is 5-7 inches too long and has a unimaginative squared off and non exotic look. Someone told the designer and engineers that the rear must accommodate two sets of golf clubs! From there designers were boxed in on options and explains why it does not look like a smooth execution that matches the front and side that look sleek and refined. In fact if you told me a designer did the front and side and a different designer did the rear, I would believe you. Especially if the rear designer draws for Camaro!

For me it's not about the price! Personally, I actually prefer if Corvette's had a higher starting price! And I gave GM proper praise! IMO, the car is so close to looking drop dead gorgeous but seems like they kind of held it back on purpose for some reason? I am still holding out till I see one in person and on top of that, I decided to wait for the Z06 so hoping as always it will look better than the Stingray model.

I agree! Screw the golf club needs! They advertise it as a Super Car....Super Cars don't need to be able to fit two gold clubs! If I want to go golfing I'll take my Range Rover!
