This shot presents better than what I’ve seen. Maybe the stripes hide the pinched center and the high wing accentuates the curve of the lid. The lights show a wrap around here that is better than the flat straight on view.

Actually, quite a bit was said about the development and the mid-engine work and concept from the 1960s to date. I have no idea what YOU watched or listened to.

From the photo's the rear end has far to many horizontal lines, it looks like a poorly made layer cake! If you can eliminate the spoiler from the car you order its looks will improve...

Default The rear is an incoherent mess...

Unlike the concept sketches, which are quite cohesive, the car looks like a design mish-mash.

IMO the rear end is waaaaay too busy looking. It reminds me of recent Honda Civic overwrought ugly design. I think car designers are in a drunken contest for the ugliest design. I hope I like it better in person; I really want to.

Incoherent mess is the best description.

Concur...
I think...after seeing the whole vehicle...the rear fits well. Mind you it took me a while to accept it but I think if they brought back the oval shape it wouldn't have lined up with their goal of a "super car" design. It works for me. Perhaps in 7 to 10 years I'll trade in my 2012 for one. Until then I long for my first sighting of one in person.

Well, here is to hoping the back of the C8 Z06 ends up looking more like the sketch. The overall look of the back end of the C7s is still my least favorite part of the C7 generation, though I like the taillights on the current Z06/ZR1 (never liked the red ones on the Stingray/GS & I'm not typically a fan of clear taillights). The back end on Vettes for the past several generations just hasn't been all that great right out of the gate. It always needs to grow on you & even after it does it's just okay.

Looks great to me.

I like it better than the C7 and I really like the C7 rear.

If it was less busy it would be a large slab/flat surface area like previous generations and so many complained of that. Basically GM can't win. If they raised the price to $250,000 I bet some would praise it lol.

Check out the C8 rear design sketch below. Somehow the real thing never comes out quite like the sketches.

Sketches don't have to be proportionately correct. If built like these sketches the car would literally be 1.5 - 2 ft wider.

It's actually looking more like a Cruze-Malibu every day. Although it's still a Camaro. Big disappointment.

The C7's rearend is all the more gorgeously beautiful and unique. No Cruze-Malibu there!!

Totally understand the whole brand identity approach here, I just don't agree with the way the final design was executed. The rear looks a little *too much* like Cruze/Malibu.

Have not owned a vette for a long time, would certain color choice ie black help to make the rear less busy??

My thoughts on the rear end it could have blended together better instead of the design Q's fighting each other, but what i really don't care for is the hockey sticks that extend from the front of the rear quarter onto the door itself, if they could have kept that design on the rear Q only and leave the door clean IMO, then that wouldn't look as though it was a stuck on decoration.
