On the R8 we called the side panel the Side Blade,s. A few painted them the same color but one reason the designers made them different colors was to break up the length of the car. I feel the designers from Corvette did the same, the C8 is a very long car to help accommodate the engine and the rear trunk. This is one reason why I prefer the C8 side blades a different color like black or carbon fiber. I would need to see the car in person at many angles before I would make them the same color. In the end its up to each individual to decide, I prefer the contrast between the panels, this car is the length of an aircraft career and the eye needs this disruption.

This is my favorite exterior/interior color scheme.

With all the other exterior exposed carbon fiber options, I’m honestly surprised this isn’t one of them.

That makes me nervous about the transparent roof... the visualizer shows the sides painted the same as the car. This photo shows them black ... blah!! If that's the case, I need to change my order.

This is one of the colors I think it looks good on. Generally to my eye, it looks better on the lighter colors than the dark ones. But I generally prefer sleek, uniterrupted lines. Others see things differently, which is another good reason for Chevy to give the customer the option. I can see it being an item of controversy 40 years from now, whether it was original to have them body color or not on that car.... One thing you can be sure of is that whatever way costs money is the way the vast majority of the dealers will order them. for lot stock (when we get to that point)

I completely agree with you, it looks better body color, the black detailing make the scoops look disproportionately huge.
My favorite color on the C8 is blue and second choice white. With the rear high wing spoiler

Body Color with silver color wheels ( I’m one of the 50 percent who likes silver or chrome wheels and think black wheels are the easiest way to make a vette look ugly).

I want body color side vent but black front and rear grills. I think the easiest way is just to wrap the side vent.

That sure wasn't the case with the C7. Almost no dealer or even customers bought "body colored vents". And they were a $995 option. My C7 has body colored vents and so will the C8.

My 16 ZO6 is a one of one per the Museum ... I am guessing the painted vents and the adrenaline red interior with comp seats were a big part of it...... my C8 will have painted side scoop and vents

Me too!
Why are they making me choose the lesser of two evils.
Side scoops in body color=good
Front and rear vents in body color=bad
