How many of you said...
Am I the only one who watched the unveiling, was wowed and loved the new C8, craved one immediately but then...
Woke up this morning, went to your garage and said to your C7, "I still love you baby...you still drive me wild!"
Because as beautiful as the C8 is, I still love the way my C7 looks.

They did a fantastic job.
I woke up with a medical issue this morning (SORRY FOR THE SHITPOSTING) but now that I am awake I truly feel this will destroy all exotic sales.

I try not to get caught up in the hype. I was building a car out in the configurator and really thought about ordering one but:
- I really still want a manual transmission
- If I decide I can do without the manual I want to wait and see how the new DCT performs and how reliable it is
- I don't even want to pay MSRP, so waiting 6-12 months could save thousands.
I have been caught up in the hype of new cars before and wish I would have waited...

Safety Car
0-60 in 2.9 seconds in a Z51 equipped 2020 stingray. Not much can come close to touching that.
I'd rather have that than a fully loaded C7 ZR1. The C7 is awesome and all, but this C8... holy crap. WOW.
I'm sure there will be a special twin turbo dohc with electric AWD and an entirely carbon fiber body in the future that will get to 60 in under 2.5 seconds.
But let's be real here. For an average guy like me the base 2020 stingray is way more car than the current C7 can ever be in any configuration. And just look at it! If it had a Ferrari badge on it anyone would believe it cost $400,000. This is a game changer for the performance car market. The deniers are getting stuck on their own stubbornness.

The car looks fantastic and I have no doubts it will perform as advertised and I will definitely get one but I am new to the Corvette game and am having an absolute blast with my C7. I have two road trips planned yet for this summer and fall which would not happen if I had sold the car or was just waiting around for the C8 to drop. Also, who knows when the hard top convertible will be available? Not interested at all in a top that I have to manually lift off and stow and then manually put it back on when the weather suddenly changes.
For me it is more fun getting excited about the new car while knowing full well I can just sit back and let things unfold, let the dust settle on real world ownership testing and still have a blast while I am doing it.

I traded my GS for a 4-door hatchback last month. I am watching this new one though, maybe at the end of the run, before the C9 comes out and the kids are a bit older...

The engine cover is amazing.. the McLaren suffers from the "WTF is that" syndrome.. the engines are so small that most people won't know it's a ME car.
The C8 nailed all of the cosmetic things that buyers for exotics look for.. Clear view from engine bay, dual luggage compartments, double screen interior, BIG v8 in the back, clean looks, and McLaren performance for $50k..
I know I wouldn't consider anything ME besides the C8...

If had big money Corvette is not on the short list, except for a few of the classics C3's.

True, especially with the easily attainable price point, it runs the risk of being branded the poor mans Ferrari.

My C7 M7 convertible will stay in our garage for many years to come. My wife is very interested in the C8, so I suspect we'll have both, and I'll still get my manual fix.
I agree that the base car offers a level of performance much greater than 99% will ever be able to handle.
