I guess that's why all the European forums are losing their mind over it?

Goodness gracious, the bound-and-determinedness of disliking things around here is absurd.

NSX all day.
I’ve owned both a 96 and 17. The NSX is not a supercar. It’s nice Honda with a V6

It should also be noted that the $20,000 deep factory discount is before any possible additional discount negotiations with your dealer. The NSX has been attempting to fill a price niche that barely even exists. Once the C8 hits the street, it is only inevitable the bottom of their niche is quite literally going to plummet beyond Acuras reach. Buying an NSX now is no longer the somewhat viable ME option that it was several months ago. Now it is just a question of how much money you are willing to lose.
I think it’s funny when I read stuff like this. The NSX was never meant to compete against a Corvette. And they are likely rarely cross shopped. Corvettes are “cheap” and mass produced. About 1800 NSXs have been made in total with less than 1k being in the United States. I do agree at MSRP the car was way over priced. However, I, like most people, didn’t pay anywhere close to MSRP for one.

I doubt the C8 takes hardly any, if any, sales away from the NSX. Or any other Exotic for that matter. It’s not like Ferrari/McLaren/Lamborghini owners are running around saying “man I wish Corvette would produce a mid engine car because I’m sick of paying 200k plus for mine”.

Now on the flip side, does any of this take away from the Corvette’s abilities? Not in the slightest. That’s likely Howe most of us decided to buy one in the first place. The bang for the buck was/is just undeniable. My first Corvette was a C7 GS. And what I paid for it there is nothing in this world that competes with it. The car was amazing. I plan on buying another one in a year or so. For what I paid for my C7 Z06, there’s nothing within a hundred K that I think comes close to it on a track, specifically because I had the Z07 package as well.

Chevy does a great job with the Corvette. Particularly since the C5 Z06 in my opinion. However, that doesn’t mean we have to act like the thought process behind buying a Corvette is similar to that of an exotic. Maybe the ZR1 since it was going for 140ish. But base model Corvettes under 60k for people buying NSXs, R8s, McLarens, Ferrari’s, Lamborghinis, or any other exotic is an additional car in their driveway, not an either or.

NSX is a super car in price only. When I drove it, it lacked the visceral feel that I expect in a high performance car. The feeling of being insulated and isolated is definitely present. Also the engine note of a 6 cylinder engine just doesn't appeal to me. After market exhausts just can't hide the the 6 cylinder sound.
I hope the C8 retains some rawness. YOMD

Price, looks, and speed. Let’s not forget the NSX does 10.8s quarter miles stock. The engine sound is pretty weak. I’ve heard some after market exhausts that make it sound better, but I definitely prefer the sound to both a 458 and my Z06.

C8 Way better. If you want to be different it would be a way to go, you will probably see a lot more Corvettes than that homely Acura.

What exactly does the glorified Honda offer that an R8 doesn't?

Order a dozen, means more C8's for the rest of us.

Nothing, just different styles. And isn’t the R8 just a glorified VW? LoL

The C8 will sell more in a week than the NSX will in a year. If you like it so much, go buy one and help their flagging sales. Then, please, go to their forum and leave this one. Win/win for all of us.

Looks are subjective and although I like the looks it's not a head turner. 10.8 is quick but the lack of power and significant weight make it an easy target unless you're launching from a stand still.

I thought the same would be true but it’s not. Even from a roll the NSX is faster, the electric batteries and the immediate torque just make it go. I will say though, a skilled driver could easily leave an NSX in the turns with the Z06/Z07. The NSX is great for ease of use but it’s def not the track monster the Z06 is.

You guys are all nuts, the C8 is everything we needed it to be. I’m considering replacing my Huracan with it, the NSX doesn’t stand a chance... go USA.

Ok, maybe not replace, but I will add a C8, NOT a Honda NSX

My experience differs from yours'. My Z07 is a 7 speed and I was able to take the NSX at speed.

Could have been the mode the driver was in. In the Corvettes I didn’t feel a true straight line speed difference in the different driving modes. On the other hand, the NSX in quiet mode is basically a Prius, in sport mode it’s a Civic Si, in sport plus it’s a Z51 C7, in track it’s a Japanese vacuum attached to two rockets. However you can only access track mode from a dead stop, so unless they were already driving the car in track, which is unlikely because it’s far less comfortable, the your Z06 would walk it easy.

I see most super/exotic car owners adding a C8 driveway, not replacing whatever super/exotic they have.

And for the price of the NSX, I'll take the C8 and that Escalade over there as well, Bob.

As expected the import humpers are marching In lockstep on this one. The c8's great looks, initial performance stats and fabulous pricing has their heads exploding. If the NSX is so beautiful and so great why can't they sell the damn things. Be absolutely certain that this C8 will put the NSX out to pasture
