Isn't it a $10k option on the C7?

Yep, you're right. Hopefully that doesn't change then. If it's comparable kit can't see why it would.

Just thinking if you don’t track the car why get it? Base car same acceleration excellent handling. Will need to see the list if features.

They stressed the importance of keeping 'relatively' affordable, so if it stays around $5K that would make the 1LT Z51 THE performance bargain of the industry.

Dry sump is included with base car, so could the up charge be less than $5K?

Only the Z51 is faster to achieve 0-60 in 3 seconds, so the base must be a bit slower.

Z51 might be required to get MR like it was for the first couple years on C7

I don't think so... there are 22 videos on the Corvette website now. One focuses on the Z51 package and lists the content and is says "MSRC optional".

No, base car has taller gearing and slower acceleration. Maybe you can change the rear axle ratio for less than taking the Z51 (not sure if rear axle is an ala carte option or only part of Z51).

Agreed, except it does not seem like you can get the GT2 seats without ordering the 2LT?

MSRC was optional on Z51, but unavailable on a base early on in C7. I was suggesting that in order to get MSRC on C8, one may have to get the Z51 package. Let's also not forget that on C7, Z51 was on 50% order constraint for like 2 years.

If you look carefully at Chevy site, MSRC is only an option on the Z51, as it was on the C7 originally. So no MSRC for base car (at least for first year). I'm hoping Z51 2LT with MSRC can be had for about $75K. If so, I'll be happy.
